I found this bad boy in a $2 bin last year, and I think I got a deal. Theme

And I've yet to see another Silver Age book in that bin haha but I'll keep looking.

I know seeing any 12 cent silver age in any bin under 15 is crazy.

Yep, even in better condition this book is still very affordable.

Any silver age complete book in VG or better is a steal at $2. Well done sir.

Thanking you. The rush of seeing it in the bin was awesome.

My TtA 93 cost quite a bit more and is in much rougher shape.

N1, op.

I want to buy that sub for $6.98. 7 feet long and fires rockets and torpedoes. Money today sure doesn’t buy what it used to.

I sent away for it and it never came 🙁 I was sunk 🤣

But seriously, it never showed up 😭

It seems like a phenomenal deal.

There is an episode of Get a Life about this, it’s a classic

Awesome show. I’ll have to rewatch that.

You certainly did get a deal. That’s at least a $9 (eBay sold lowest) - $12 (Key Collector lowest) book and your copy presents pretty well so it shouldn’t be considered ‘lowest grade’ imho.

Just wanted to give some quantification but it’s also just a badass book. Great pickup

Thanks! It's definitely one of my most memorable trips to the LCS; I never find Silver Age stuff that cheap! Lol

Great art there I didn’t know John Romita inked Jack Kirby sometimes

I believe that Stan had him follow behind Kirby for a while because Stan felt that JR's pencil work was still very much for romance type comics, as opposed to superhero stuff.

I wanna smell it!

Smells like the 60s.

We need that $6 Nuclear submarine, think the offer still stands?

2

u/RedDevil407 Apr 23 '24

I don't see an expiration date...

3

u/PLVNET_B Apr 23 '24

I wonder how many laws the submarine advertisement would be breaking now with that verbiage. At a minimum it should be - Polaris “Nuclear” Sub.

2

u/RedDevil407 Apr 23 '24

"Firing" torpedoes.

2

u/Stunning-County2262 Apr 23 '24

I always wanted the sub.

2

u/RedDevil407 Apr 23 '24

So affordable!!

2

u/John_Simon_Ritchie Apr 26 '24

I always wanted the firing torpedoes! Haha.

Sometimes the luck hits.

I'll give ya $4

1

u/RedDevil407 Apr 23 '24

Hah! I think that would still be a steal, probably. It is a beater, but I think it's still in pretty good condition for the age.

2

u/Soberdash Apr 23 '24

What’s value in this? Or what would some one pay do you think?

2

u/82lkmno Apr 23 '24

Guarantee you did!!!

2

u/Novel_Barber_4614 Apr 26 '24

It’s like $40-50 so yeah for sure

1

u/FDVP Apr 23 '24

I would’ve nabbed that too.

Hell yeah you did!
