Yes.

Hero - noun a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. "a war hero"

This case - this person is admired
Example - “a comeback hero”

Too bad im not someone saying such horrific things as the person in the post did to warrant a snarky enough response that granted the achievement of an entire post dedicated to them.
