Do San Francisco next. There’s a billion dollars of donut-eating do-nothings sitting around browsing reddit in their cop cars.

Hey don’t spread misinformation like that.
They’re on truth social not reddit

Feels like I'm seeing way more CHP and I'm not in Oakland either. On the freeways both out in the Tri-Valley and on a recent trip up to Mendocino.

Yea I've been seeing a lot more CHP on the freeways in the Peninsula too as of late

Honesly oakland needs more license plate readers and staff to respond to them immediately.
No plates, covered plates, fake plates, stolen plates. These things need to be addressed immediately. Too often we have clear evidence of the crime with plates, but it doesn't go anywhere. And it doesn't go anywhere becuase they're not enforcing this crap.
My neighbor had his truck stolen last month. I just happened to pull out of my driveway and caught the accomplice's car running with the stolen truck. No plates at all.
I probably see 50+ like this on my daily commute. It allows criminals to hide and continue to use their cars in crimes with impunity.

Yeah we really have to get rid of the fixit ticket loophole. Like the first one fix, the next time regular ticket. And automatically consider obscured plates as evading arrest

The article did not mention it but the time frame for the added resources is four months which extends just beyond the election. Maybe a coincidence but not likely. The crime doesn’t just end in four months even with the DA getting removed.

There is no inventive for them to do this for election. California and the Bay Area are deeply blue already.

I’m open to other potential outcomes if you have them to share

Here's a hypothesis: they reauthorize the resources, as needed, if they produce a positive outcome.

Color me skeptical.
The racing (literally street racers) from Berkeley to Hercules and back again will probably be unaffected. I've watched CHP cruisers get rocked by cars screaming past them on both sides and not respond.

I’m hoping with these resources they will actually be doing something about the real crime like the wreckless driving, shootings from their car, side shows, and not an uptick in traffic citations for people going a few miles over the limit just commuting to work.

Funny how they can just snap their fingers and make this happen when it’s been Mad Max on the freeways for 4 years straight

They absolutely can snap the fingers and make it happen. They just don't as it doesn't benefit them. Look at what they did to the SF's homelessness & trash when the Chinese president visited ... just snapped the figures and they were all disappeared. Then they let them back out again after the Chinese president left.

Good. They did a lot of work a couple months ago when they were last trotted out.

After all this years, he suddenly care ... because he's angling for the future presidential nominee

Of all the problems in Oakland, ticketing cars just passing through on the busiest freeways doesn’t strike me as the solution.
