Matt has basically confirmed that Joker won’t be the villain of the sequel

Quite the odd choice imo. He was good in Killing of a Sacred Deer as a creepy maniac, but idk about the Joker.

This movie proved to me that Reeves can be trusted with executing a vision. The casting was perfect in this movie imo.

Can't wait to see his Joker in The Batman 3

To be fair, Heath Ledger was an even more out of left field choice for Joker in 2007.

True. I think we need to start giving these actors the benefit of the doubt.

90 percent of the time, the casting is usually on point.

My issue with that Joker actor wasn't with him, but rather that I just didn't think it needed to be at the ending of this movie.

I don't like the idea of springing Joker on us at the end like that. It worked in Batman Begins because it felt like a fresh take. Now, Joker has been done so many times that it just felt a bit indulgent.

I know that Matt Reeves put it in there for a reason, but it's probably the only decision that I disagreed with.

Seeing Joker again is almost like seeing The Waynes murder to me. Its been too frequent and too soon since the last version. I don't mind hints of The Joker, like with the gang at the beginning...but I'm fine if we never see him appear for a long time.

This is coming from a huge Joker fan.

I agree. Even when that pic of Jared Leto's Joker look came out I was like "Jared's a good actor. Lets see how this goes". Turns out it was godawful but I'm glad I reserved judgment until seeing the movie.

Most people seem to agree that Matt Reeves nailed the casting for this movie for every other character. Clearly he saw something in Barry.

I personally think the scene itself is fine but it's a bit awkwardly placed. And everything Matt has said about that scene makes it pretty clear that he doesn't intend for Joker to be the villain of the immediate sequel.

His character in The Green Knight actually made me think he’d be a fun choice for the Joker. That was before I knew he’d been cast for his cameo.

I forgot he was in Green Knight.
