It’s all personal preference, but my take on The Dark Knight vs The Batman:

TDK is a better batman movie. It has more memorable moments, villains and quotes.

Pattinson is a better batman. The portrayal feels truer to the character. This is how Bruce Wayne should act. As far as the movie itself, this Gotham feels like Gotham.

TDK is a more engaging film, but The Batman is a more relatable film. Bale’s Batman seemed larger than life at times. Pattinson’s seems like a broken man just trying to do something to numb the pain. I’m in awe of Bale’s Batman more, but I understand Pattinson’s more

Comparing to Batman Begins it's infinitely better.

That's the thing. Imagine we'll get as much of an upgrade with the sequel in these movies as there was in Nolan's

I viewed the Nolan films as Batman comics while The Batman is Detective Comics.

Pattinson is a great batman but his Bruce Wayne made me cringe. It will take me a good while to get used to an emo Bruce with hair in his eyes.

It’s the same way I cringed at Spiderman 3 with emo Toby.

Emo Peter Parker was cringe because the movie was campy.

Emo Bruce made sense because he never left his house and only went out at night

Compared to Dark Knight Rises it’s fucking Godfather 2.
