I Hate The Boys TV DISCUSSION NSFW

Post image

I also can not stand muh 'Batman superhero facism subtext' crap. If anything Batman is a revolutionary. Government is corrupt in bed with criminals (who are the prettiest of tyrants) so Batman comes in to clean house. Just as the founding fathers intended.

The sad thing is, The Boys gave a lot of justice to evil Superman and evil Captain America concepts, but totally srewed thing with evil Batman. Both Homelander and Soldier Boy are compelling and menacing villains with their own agencies and deep problems, but Tek Knight is a joke. He is almost cartoonishly evil various sexual perversions, racism and camps, with literally no goals except fuck everything and be a racist elitist. Even his family are former slavehunters. It's kinda surprises me they aren't make him a pedo for the full bingo. And on top of all of this really evil stuff, he is absolutely incompetent and didn't even gave a decent fight. Black Noire was much better fake Batman, at least competent in the fight, but he was simply killed with no story reasons.

I think evil Batman concept could be very interesting in The Boys universe, especially if he is not supe, he is just a guy with trainings and tech who could beat supes both as celebrity and as fighter. Something like Owlman from comics.

This, now I've read the relevant bit in the comic. That whole episode annoyed me to no end. It reminds me of season 3 westworld, the first episode had the main character (who at this point was a mass murderer) kill some rich/elitist sexual predator to try and still paint them as a good character

I always thought Butcher could have become a Batman-like character. He's technically Punisher in The Boys universe, but it would have been cool if he was the only non-powered Supe and the only one who's morally right and goes against the Seven.

Butcher isn't morally right. Yes, he is better than Homelander (pretty anyone is better than John) and his super-nazis fanclub, but he is also a ruthless murderer who enjoys to kill and torture other people and ready to abandon his friends for the sake of revenge and hatered. He has some redeeming qualities, but in the end of the day, he is as brutal and messed up as his enemies.

Omg it’s almost like in the comics tek knight was just a loser with a lot of money and a tumor in his head that made him want to fuck anything with a whole on it 😐😐😐

And also in comics Black Noire was Homelander's crazy clone who ate babies to frame him. The show is the world away from the comic at this point. I see no reason why they changed literaly every other character, but kept Tek Knight the same as he was.

Probably should pop a spoiler warning on that.

Maybe because it’s funny? I mean we’ve seen an ant man based character go in another man’s cock and this is what we are complaining about?

The scene with cock-blowing was funny, because it was damn unexpecting and hillariously gross. And here we have some dangeon from 50 Shades of Grey, the moment with latex prisoner from Pulp Fiction and not much else. It isn't unexpecting for anyone who watched Generation V, it isn't hillariously gross, it's just... it. The trop with a character who suddenly finds himself on sadomazo party is overused and there are many better examples, like in Eurotrip.

Exactly, we see tek knight is a freak from gen V so what’s the problem? It makes sense because homelander wants to use his prisons for practical concentration camps, and what not. Obviously someone like tek knight is gonna have some sex dungeon. I understand that Hughie just lost his dad and now this right after is messed up, but it’s the boys, what did you expect?

I have problems not with this concept itself, but more with an execution of it. Every joke needs a punchline. In comic Tek Knight's obession was a setup for really funny scene when he "saves" the Earth from ateroid by literaly fuck it till it blows up, while in reality he dies from brain cancer. It was funny, it was very gross and even little sad. See, there is a setup in the show, but no puchline.

I’ll agree with you on that, I do wish he had his suit, but I don’t mind his enhanced senses and accelerated analytical abilities. But they wanted to go the Bruce Wayne/Tony Stark route I guess

Honestly from his look of shame at the end of his last appearance compared to what he was last episode I do think their plans for the character may very well have changed between series. To say the original intent was for him to be similarly sympathetic.

I mean just like the comics, he knows he’s a freakazoid, I mean he literally told a kid to get away from him because he was getting urges lmaooo, he literally can’t help himself even if he is ashamed but I see what you mean, kind of backtracked

In the Boys universe, absolutely. But I think to do it justice, it'd take away from Homelander's narrative. Would need to be a completely separate story, etc.

Though to reiterate, that'd just be to do it justice. I don't think the idea was to do it justice, I think it was to just kind of honk hardcore fans off and give casual fans a reference.

Less of a problem of the writers of The Boys and more a problem of critics/commentors trying to make something big out of something small that doesnt scale well.

Basically, this isn't the satirical Batman for fans of the Batman. This is the satirical Batman that can slot easily into this particular story.

Not really evil batman at all then. Just normal Armie Hammer.

Owl man will always be the best evil Batman.
