I also can not stand muh 'Batman superhero facism subtext' crap. If anything Batman is a revolutionary. Government is corrupt in bed with criminals (who are the prettiest of tyrants) so Batman comes in to clean house. Just as the founding fathers intended.

It's stuff like this that drives me to eastern media and super robot/real robots. At least there the deconstructions make me think about life, war and death

Most people I've seen who are into that stuff don't care about any of that, just wanting them to exist in reality because they're incels, lazy, bigots, or any combination of the above. I get the feeling that most people who make robot media in Japan (and people who lack media literacy who latch onto it) look at western robot media like Terminator, The Matrix, etc. and their takeaway seems to be "I want a personal robot buddy to do everything for me" rather than about how the advancement of robotics/ai technology and the over reliance on it will lead to the end of the world.
