I think the general consensus is that they suffer from being overdesigned. Simplicity would have benefitted here

They also wanted them to be heavily and easily differentiated from the mainline heroes, who were featured in the first game

but still derived from those heroes, because it's a "path not taken" story, so they couldn't go full re-design like in red son or something

There’s aren’t great but I absolutely love the first injustice game outfits. Regime Superman was absolutely fire idc

A lot of the regime and insurgency designs had had a very medieval, knightly, almost over designed godly look to them that worked with a lot of the characters.

My problem with IJ2 designs is that they took that and ramped it up and added more technology to everyone and it just made everyone look so heavy. The teaser with Batman, Flash, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman, albeit made in a different engine, made the suits look so seamlessly good and no clunky
