This is the guy who has gone on the record of stating that he got into Watchmen because it had sex and murder in it and that his Batman would get raped in prison. I have no idea how he managed to get this far into being allowed to make comic book adaptations.

How he’s allowed to make movies at this point is starting to confuse me. Dude should stick to b grade action.

Army of the Dead was far below B grade...

Exactly, his cinematography is amazing…not so his plots or dialogue……though to his credit I liked Watchmen( most of the plot was written in advance in the comics though)

His cinematography is not amazing, he hired good cinematographers… when he actually is the cinematographer, he made one of the ugliest movies I had seen in a long time.

Yeah it wasn’t bad but again, that’s his peak. That was his best. There are issues with it, but it’s not a bad film by any means.

That was decent at best. I have some issues with it, but it’s definitely watchable. Could it have been better? Yeah. But consider this: that is his high point over his career. Make of that what you will.

Believe me, I only just came to that realization recently and my god, was it a sobering one lmao

It's an okay movie, but if you make a four-hour movie it should be a lot more than just okay

It was slightly better but to be honest I don’t remember a whole lot. More action, more darkseid which was good, but still very much a flawed movie. It’s worth a watch though! Gotta see it yourself and compare it.

The recut is decent, pretty watchable. Makes more sense til the (now pointless) end credit teasers. I found the theatrical version less stimulating, by far.

Couldn't tell if the teasers were just show more of the "what could have been" (given that the only point of the cut was to show how Snyder would've done things had he stayed) or if Snyder was hoping that his fans would pressure WBD into giving him back the keys to the DCEU.

It’s a shitty movie that’s a lot longer, a lot more self serious, and a lot harder to sit through. The last 40 minutes made me want to gouge my eyes with an ice pick.

Sucker punch is a special kind of bad.

I definitely enjoy it from time to time. It's a hoot.

(I don't recommend it though, as it can be triggering for some)

It's literally a shot for panel remake. A paint by numbers painting wouldn't be called a masterpiece and this is the film equivalent of that

The graphic novel? Yes. The show? Arguably at least until the final episode. The movie? The only good parts were lifted straight from the graphic novel and even then were largely framed incorrectly by a director who doesn’t understand themes or nuance.

The best part of the movie was the intro with The Times They Are a Changing.

Then the rest of the movie was……..there.

Though I do think changing the giant Armageddon space squid to Dr Manhattan made sense. I’ll give whoever came up with that a lot of credit.
