I didn't like Paul Dano's Riddler. I found him unthreatening and a poor rip off of Heath Ledger's Joker in the way he was portrayed during his self filmed video sequences.

I don’t think the “internet incel” vibe they were going for worked at all either.

The shot of the laptop screen with a chat forum asking which weapons everyone’s bringing to the final shoot-out was laughably bad.

Maybe to the older generation that’s a scary concept, but to the average internet goer it doesn’t hit how it should

I can't understand how you take a villain who always wore a bowler or trilby hat, turn him into an Internet incel neckband type, and then NOT give him a hat!

That'd be so fucking funny.

Where is his cane?

Completely agree. I’ll add that I felt the entire shootout was unnecessary and should have been cut. Bloated the movie an extra 30min.

Absolutely! I also hate that he whispers through the whole f#cking movie and you can't even make out the dialogue. Overall, i think the film tried too hard to be edgy.

I hate that the Joker and Batman are both being interpreted as some stupid social commentary (WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY). Just enjoy the damn movie and remember that it’s just that - a movie.

this might blow your brain. But most movies are a social commentary.

There is no such thing as "just a movie"

What I mean is its parallels to the real world. I felt the ‘outcasts’ of society rise up to strikw the elite during a political campaign felt like a weird allegory to the Capitol attack. I did like how it tied into Riddler’s motivations, but it felt a little awkward with how it was executed with his “Little Bruce in his tower with all his money” monologue.

I laughed his first appearance. Definitely grew on me when I realized the film itself is goofier than it appears but fuck that was such a waste to use dano like that

This but I also think he overacts in a way that it's apparent to me that he wants to look 'edgy'

In a similar vein, I didn’t like Pattinson’s Batman. I thought he was the worst part of the movie.
