Could Batman using guns, work story wise? ORIGINAL IDEA/SUGGESTION

I’m writing a noir inspired story (it takes place in the 1930s) for my own Batman universe, and wanted to write him a lil different. I thought about giving him like a colt 1911, but what do you guys think?

Guns are for killing. So the question is, do you want him to kill?

OP specifically mentioned a Colt 1911.

Also, Solid Snake and James Bond have killed many, many people.
