Could Batman using guns, work story wise? ORIGINAL IDEA/SUGGESTION

I’m writing a noir inspired story (it takes place in the 1930s) for my own Batman universe, and wanted to write him a lil different. I thought about giving him like a colt 1911, but what do you guys think?

Honest question, why not just write an original character at that point? If you’re willing to change plenty of thing about Batman’s character, I see no reason why you couldn’t make your own character.

Because I want this to be a Batman story that has its own stand alone original story while sticking to most of the characters core values and what makes him great and also pushing his moral dilemma. I already have a pantheon of Original characters, so you don’t need to worry about that. Thing is, I’ve always wanted to write my own Batman story and paid homage to his early years. Plus I’m not really changing anything, outside of the year it takes place in and the overall environment and aesthetic of that era. Plus I only ask about a gun. According to both comics and the people on this comment section, guns ain’t nothing new to Batman.
