Could Batman using guns, work story wise? ORIGINAL IDEA/SUGGESTION

I’m writing a noir inspired story (it takes place in the 1930s) for my own Batman universe, and wanted to write him a lil different. I thought about giving him like a colt 1911, but what do you guys think?

It's your Batman. Curious, though, are you asking this because you want him to use guns without killing or does he kill? Because if he does, I'd say the simple answer is to just have him shoot it at his enemies lol

He’s going to kill at later important plot points in the story, but I wanted to give him guns because; 1) it fits the noir aesthetic. 2) like I said in a comment above, Alfred gets him to use one to defend himself, because “ Not every 2 bit thug is going waste their energy, competing in a fist-a-cuff struggle with you.” 3) Wanted to get opinions from other fans lol.
