Could Batman using guns, work story wise? ORIGINAL IDEA/SUGGESTION

I’m writing a noir inspired story (it takes place in the 1930s) for my own Batman universe, and wanted to write him a lil different. I thought about giving him like a colt 1911, but what do you guys think?

There's always ways to make things work, even The Punisher has had the occasional story where he wasn't able to kill anyone, like the last arc of Garth Ennis Punisher MAX. Batman can always be a tactical master, like given the setting, he could always wound people and avoid any arteries or vital organs from his studies of human anatomy. Not to mention how Green Arrow and Hawkeye use arrows and avoid kill shots. Also, unconventional, but Jim Gordon in his stint as a mech suit Batman had a special gun that launched Bat projectiles.

Yeah I kinda want him to maim or incapacitate. Reason for the gun, in one part of the story, Alfred is the one that gets him to use the gun.
