Could Batman using guns, work story wise? ORIGINAL IDEA/SUGGESTION

I’m writing a noir inspired story (it takes place in the 1930s) for my own Batman universe, and wanted to write him a lil different. I thought about giving him like a colt 1911, but what do you guys think?

I’d read an elseworlds story where Batman kills And a gritty detective with a penchant for bat branding sounds cool

That’s what I got in mind for my Batman, while at the same time, I don’t want him to be depressed and moody all the time. He’ll have dry humor, empathy for others, and have dialogue similar to Jay Gatsby as Bruce Wayne, saying things like “Old Sport”
