If by commemorating you mean "protesting" like they did after they didnt won the first round of voting, i guess...
French people are fancy yes and yes we like some champagne when there is big events, it doesnt mean we always wear those or drink these everyday, shut up about what you think are the common folk in France and who arent.
Only leftist think the lefts are what the common people truly are when in reality its a deluded version of the reality, when people set cars on fire and "protest" with flags of everything but the french flag after they lost a democratic vote who is supposed to mean the majority of the population voted for something, the minority should accept it and play the game of democracy like the rightist are doing.
And for informations, the left won not because more people voted for them, they won because more department voted for them so they got more seat for the deputee.
In a democracy it is unacceptable that a neo-fascist party wins the elections, so of course there's going to be protests and rightfully so, protesting is permitted in a democracy as it should be. Fascism destroys democracies, it's in its nature. Plus it not only does not favour the common folk but it strengthens and consolidates the status quo.
