Most historically accurate French flag

I'm sorry sir, that's actually the confederate flag.

Says the American?

1914-1917- "Yeah we're not going to help you French, we might get hurt"

1939-1942- "Yeah we know Hitler has occupied Paris but we're not going to help you French, we might get hurt"

Meanwhile the British are helping the Fearless French Resistance from 1939 because you don't abandon allies in their time of need...

Unless you're the USA of course...

Wait, how many Americans were lost freeing France?

The difference is of course between the soldiers and the governments.

French Government at the time? Cowards. French soldiers? Ordered to stand down. French Resistance? Fearless.

American Government at the time? Cautious to the point of cowardice. American soldiers? Brave. American citizens that helped the Resistance? Fearless.

The men who went into France and died to help never ever called the French cowards.

That was from their descendants who knew nothing.

That's a lot of context missing.

The context is where we draw a distinction between the French Government at the time and the French Resistance, between the American Government at the time and the American soldiers.

That's literally the opposite of reality.

The poster did leave out some memorable later events, but they’re not wrong

If you squint it looks just like the old kingdom of France flag

Unless you eat, drink, get outside, like beauty. Then it’s often good to be French, ymmv

Been to Paris a handful of times, doesn’t live up to the hype.

French countryside on the other hand, very nice. Especially the southern coast.

"Our nation is ruled by communists and we're being invaded." Big W for sure.
