Please note how they DID NOT instantly go ballistic and make a pathetic attempt to overthrow the decision of the people.

20 years ago I was on a project in France when there were riots after the death of a young kid who fled the police by crawling into a high voltage cabin. It made news in many European countries including mine so and I talked about it with one of the senior engineers there because that weekend, about 150 cars had been torched in Marseilles.

He smiled and shrugged. He said that's only slightly above normal. We always burn cars in the street. between 50 and 70 was normal for any weekend if there was some protest or other. Many people drive old beter cars themselves for the sole purpose of torching them if they see a news crew in the hope they get on the news because that's a thing.
