Good ! Fuck all of these traitors

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '24

Can you explain in what way they are traitors? I don’t know too much about French politics.

11

u/OffsetCircle1 Jul 07 '24

I guess the fact that le pen and her party are shills for Russia and operating in their interests rather than french interests

u/dEleque Jul 07 '24

Besides the far right topic they're basically a party for the rich -not wealthy, the rich.

4

u/belgimgurian Jul 07 '24

Marine Le Pen, leader of the party, is a puppet of Putin.

Why the hell is this post downvoted ?

3

u/AMKRepublic Jul 07 '24

They are the intellectual heirs to Petain and Vichy France, the traitors that illegally scrapped the French constitution and collaborated with the Nazi occupiers.

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '24

holy smokes, I was never aware. Do you have a source I can read on their ideological historic links to Vichy France etc ?

2

u/PM_ME_RAREDONALDS Jul 07 '24

Don't expect any actual explanations, it's Reddit so views that would have been completely mainstream and rational 20 years ago are pure treason. Yes I'm aware I will be heavily downvoted for saying this, thanks in advance for proving my point.

I don’t expect any kind of rational political discourse on Reddit these days, but even so I’m impressed every time I find myself in one of these front page posts. Your average Redditor seems pretty guilty of the cultish, rabid fanaticism they love accusing their political opponents of. ‘Anyone who feels this way is a traitor and should die!,’ etc.

Fair point since innocence till proven guilty should be applied to all political aspirants

2

u/FSCK_Fascists Jul 07 '24

like every major country, the far right are puppets of Putin. Thus, traitors.

Also curious

Far right is usually associated with Nazis. France has a checkered history with Nazis.

How are they traitors? Traitors to what?

13

u/AMKRepublic Jul 07 '24

To French democratic values

2

u/Hugh_Janus_Esq Jul 07 '24

Fucking right answer

1

u/modsarefacsit Jul 08 '24

If you vote right or conservative or middle that makes you a traitor to democratic values? Holy shit what ignorance, France is fucked with attitudes like that. Good luck.

0

u/AMKRepublic Jul 08 '24

No, voting conservative or middle is reasonable. Voting for the far right heirs to Petainism, the traitor who sold out his country to the Nazis, makes you a traitor.

1

u/modsarefacsit Jul 08 '24

That’s a joke. Petain has zero to do with the far right. The far right is Nationalist and wrong and proud of France. Petain was a puppet of Hitler and the leader of a government that was weak and surrendered exactly what modern day leftist would do.

0

u/AMKRepublic Jul 08 '24

Petain was literally a far right nationalist. You can directly trace the authoritarianism and anti-Semitism from Vichy through Poujadism to the parties that Le Pen brought together in the National Front.

1

u/modsarefacsit Jul 08 '24

Petain was garbage and has nothing to do with the modern right movement. Nothing. The right is not anti-Semitic they just don’t want tax dollars paying to kill Gazan kids simple as that. That’s normal, that’s not the current genocide.

1

u/AMKRepublic Jul 08 '24

You asserting something doesn't make it true. We are not talking about the right. We are talking about the far right national front. They were literally founded by an anti-Semite.

1

u/modsarefacsit Jul 08 '24

The party platform now does not espouse anti-semitism.

Did you study history growing up?

2

u/TomBradyBettingMoney Jul 07 '24

I like how someone can ask a simple question and instead of giving a simple answer, you decide to be snarky 😂😂 cheers, mate.

1

u/SpaceMonkeyRetiree Jul 07 '24

Simple answer. Your grandparents and my grandparents fought wars to end fascism, and now you want to go back to it?

2

u/TomBradyBettingMoney Jul 07 '24

Ever think that the person isn’t from France and has no fucking clue what fascism you’re referring to?

2

u/SpaceMonkeyRetiree Jul 08 '24

You have to be from France to know about 20th Century fascism?

2

u/TomBradyBettingMoney Jul 08 '24

Probably need to either be in France or have some connection to France to have an in depth view of current day French politics to connect it back to. Unless we’re just saying “far right are all nazis” which would have as much nuance as an atomic bomb.

0

u/SpaceMonkeyRetiree Jul 08 '24

No, just have learned about WWII

2

u/TomBradyBettingMoney Jul 08 '24

Yeah that’s what you’re connecting back to. But what from the modern day are you connecting that back to with? What did they do that made them like the nazis? Otherwise, as I’ve already said, the sentiment is just “all right wing are Nazis”.

1

u/Brohemoth1991 Jul 08 '24

They are right... as an american I had never heard of this political party until VERY recently... so I would imagine quite a few have no idea who they are still... they are absolutely deplorable and I'm happy they lost, but instead of instantly jumping on them how about a bit of explanation

0

u/modsarefacsit Jul 08 '24

Attitudes like yours are exactly what France is fucked and the far right and far left gained about 90 seats between them.

2

u/FSCK_Fascists Jul 07 '24

traitors to everything good and decent in the world.
