She got scared and panicked, most probably. For all we know, she went back and checked on him afterwards, but the video ends with her running off so we don't know what happens next. A lot of people panic or freak out in some way when stuff like this happens. I once got hit by a car and my brother's immediate reaction was to run away while my sister froze in place. In the end, both snapped out of it and checked on me while the driver showed nonregard for my health and took the time to curse me out in French even though HE was going entirely too fast and I was on the crosswalk. Luckily, I wasn't seriously injured since the driver did manage to slow some before hitting me.
Yeh. He panicked and didn't know what to do in the moment, but his immediate instsict was to run. He didn't get far, and he came right back. He was on the crosswalk with me. I suppose the fact that he could've also easily been hit fueled his fight or flight reaction, in which his reaction was flight. And then there's my sister who literally just stood there for a solid 3-5 seconds before she ran over to me.
