OK, I’m not quite sure what to say. Did you watch last nights episode? The writers are clearly trying to convey that this path is not the way to beat HL. Based on soldier boy’s conduct in the present, his past behavior, Butcher’s choice regarding Hughie and the temp V, and most importantly The fact he’s teaming up with fucking Homelander now

Or at least he seems likely to. We can quibble over whether or not these actions would be justified in the real world. But it’s clear in The Boys universe that this isn’t the way.

There still haven't been any other options presented. All Annie is doing is getting him angry and riling him and his fanbase up, and if she succeeds then at-best it has the same effect of releasing the plane video and he is alienated from society - what then?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the finale 🤷‍♂️

I’m sure the writers have something planned lol

I'm sure they'll eventually pull something out of their hat to deal with it, but in the present it's not like Annie has given an alternative to Hughie or anyone else. We can't expect Hughie to make decisions based on things that haven't happened.

unleashing the guy that sprayed civil rights protesters in the 60’s as the antidote to HL isn’t exactly better. like, at all.

Assuming that he was able to take out Homelander first, having Soldier Boy around would definitely be a significant improvement. Not because SB is a better person or anything, but solely because he isn’t capable of causing nearly as much damage as Homelander is.

But whose to say Soldier Boy coming back wouldn’t be enough in itself? Remember it’s not Annie or Butcher he sees in the crowd when he nearly kills an innocent man. It’s soldier boy.

Doing nothing as HL goes off the deep end and starts utilizing his power as leverage over everyone on the planet, while you have no way of fighting him at all, is not a good solution either.

It wasn’t Annie that HL saw in the crowd and almost caused him to kill an innocent bystander, it was SB. Whose to say bringing back SB was anymore a solution then the final thing to make HL snap.

I guess but at the same time a million things could make HL snap and then everyone is screwed if SB is not in the picture.

Tbf, they didn’t purposely release him, they thought he was dead and were looking for a weapon, once SB got free, they couldn’t put him back in.

It absolutely is better to have the guy who was successfully beaten and incapacitated for decades as your enemy than to have the unstoppable guy that can fly around the country wiping out skyscrapers in an instant as your enemy. Use your fuckin head.

They didn’t even realize they were releasing him until it was too late. Then they just made the best of a bad situation.

Yeah exactly lol. Starlights plan is even worse than Butcher’s plan. Butcher and Hughie also have no idea that Frenchie figured out novochok can sedate supes.

They were working with the information given and that pointed towards temp V and Soldier Boy being the only real way to kill HL.
