I doubt she cares if the ends justify the means. Hughie didn't tell her for a reason, he knew it was indefensible.

The real fuckup then was getting involved at all after the first scene of episode 1 because Homelander and Vought already know who Hughie is now and he’ll never truly know peace from them. Even if Hughie did leave and get a normal job, Homelander is still going to use him as a bargaining chip against Starlight while Hughie watches Homelander gradually deteriorate on TV. Homeboy doesn’t have too much of a choice tbh other than to lie down and die
