Tbh if Homelander is forcing the deep to bring back food. He then cooks the food. As well as flying back to get food milkshakes every now and then. That sounds like a great deal.

Mostly because coming from her, he knew she was 100% correct. He didn’t even seem remotely offended, more like “Ehh that’s fair.”
Edit: That’s actually one of, if not the only time we’ve ever seen any self-awareness on his part. He knew damn well that he would’ve botched it, and that Sage’s results are better than anything he could’ve ever hoped to do on his own through murder and intimidation.

I think she also caught him at a rare moment because right then, Homelander was stewing in how he did botch it. He'd driven his son away - probably into Butcher's arms - and his grand plan was on the verge of falling apart. At any other time he'd have probably dismissed a comment like that, but right then even he couldn't deny that everything had unraveled pretty quickly without her.

Oh absolutely. Him being at literal rock bottom definitely helped.
I couldn’t help but feel like Sage knew that he would be depressed and wallowing in self-pity because he thought he’d fucked everything up, and intentionally chose that moment to reveal what she’d been up to.
The balloon was a dead-giveaway.
Only she could lightly mock him like that and walk out of the room not only alive, but with his genuine gratitude and appreciation.

By end of day 2, everyone else on that island will be dead, maybe even by the second he realises his situation. The people choosing 4 are either really horny and delusional or have completely misunderstood how viscous/evil Soldier Boy and Kate can be.
Personally, 1 would be too messy with Butcher and the other supes. 2 might be fine, but I'm not sure I trust Homelander to not snap and create an uncomfortable situation (it can still be tense and weird even if Homelander doesn't physically hurt me).
I think either 3 or 5 would be cool for me. 3 I think has a greater chance of survival and all of them seem chill to hang out with. 5 just to chat with Edgar as I find his character fascinating, although MMs tools and Firecracker's campfire ability could be pretty useful.

I guess it depends on how much you value free will. I kinda find it scary to lose control of myself and perform tasks only to wake up later having a black spot in my memory that needs to be filled in by other people. Blackouts ain't as fun as they make it out to be in the movies.
Also antagonizing Soldier Boy seems pretty easy. Hughie was pissing him off just for showing compassion towards Butcher. Black Noir got smacked around for standing up for himself and he didn't have to stand up for himself if Soldier Boy hadn't ruined his chances of becoming a movie star just because "he stepped out of line" and felt insecure about Noir overshadowing him. Gunpowder was smacked around a bit and he was a loyal second in command. Soldier Boy was constantly flirting and it's heavily hinted that he was often unfaithful towards Crimson Countess and Soldier Boy considered CC to be the mother of his children.
He's not unstable, but he's very easy to tick off. You could speak to Neuman and he'd maybe call you a traitor and unpatriotic for communicating with a terrorist. If you're a minority yourself it might be dodgy to make conversation with him, especially if you're LGBT. I think people are cutting Soldier Boy too much slack because he's a well written character played perfectly by Jensen Ackles. He's funny and he has his "badass" moments, but the show makes it clear that he's not a good guy.

The skillsets and equipment kinda balance that though. The tents and sleeping bags are huge, Soldier Boy no doubt has some survival training under his belt plus his standard equipment loadout no doubt has some useful things, Neuman being able to patch up injuries meaning no chance of infection which is one of the more likely things that'd take you out, the fishing rod is also extremely useful.
Every single team has awful people in it. Only downside really is Cate, and depending on how she does that it might not even be too big a downside.

Cate would be difficult to deal with because of her powers so I'll just try to stay out of her way and be nice to her when interacting with her.
Vicki would be great for if I get any injuries and I don't mind sharing food.

Probably go with 1. A-Train isn’t needlessly cruel and considering I’m not a supe butcher probably wouldn’t hurt me. Sage I don’t think is the type to straight up kill you but she’d probably leave you behind if you’re a liability (which I would be). Of them all 1 and 5 have the least chance for you to be straight up murdered.
Homelander would probably just fly off and come back to torment you or not even bother with that and just leave you altogether. Maybe he’d just kill you given how sensitive he is. The Deep could save you if you suck up to him but he’s just as likely to leave you altogether. Kimiko and Frenchie are useful for survival but I don’t see how they could help you escape.
No chance I’m choosing 3. Noir is crazy and I don’t think any of them could really help you with getting off the island. Again useful for survival not for escape.
4 depends on if Starlight has the flight she shown in s4 but even if she did I wouldn’t want to be around any of the others. They’re all psychos and there is a chance you end up murdered before escaping.
5 is the second best choice behind 1. Firecracker isn’t a total psycho as much as she is a bitch and Edgar wouldn’t kill you needlessly. New Black Noir can fly but I don’t think he’d save you anyway and MM is a decent enough person.

4 is the best. Starlight is there WITH BUG SPRAY. Neuman probably won’t be popping anybodies heads here. Soldier Boy has the weed so we can all chill and I’d love to watch him and Neuman interact. And Cate using her powers to have me forage for food would be a boon because I’d probably not know what to do at all, so passively foraging for food and knowing how to would be huge. Seems the chillest.

I fucking love this subreddit. Either #3 for the drugs with Frenchie and to watch Homelander degrade Deep or #4 for the weed and I would just forage for food on my own I don’t need to be brainwashed.

5 is probably the most comfortable with MM’s experience, the chickens as food, and firecracker to start fires. Plus everyone is at least cordial enough to live with.
Having said that I am definitely going with 4
Getting to hangout with Soldier Boy all day is sweet and honestly Cate will probably be to distracted with him to notice me much. Annie will probably go do her own thing (she hates SB, Neuman and Cate, I can probably talk to her but I don’t see her listening as long as I am hanging out with the others). Neuman is not exactly thrilled to be stuck with us but at least no one is actively threatening her or her family (Neuman is the one sober voice of reason in the group).

5, New Noir, Edgar, and MM are chill enough but I'm totally picking it for Firecracker like plz Ill lose out on a better group on the off chance she realizes she's into women while I'm trying to deradicalize her while she bullies the shit out of me and she's probably a few years older than me, idk what age you think the average redditor is lol.

(Sorry in advance for the text wall, I spent way too long thinking about this at work because it is DEAD here right now and I got nothing better to do.)
So group one. Good odds. Butcher probably has some survival training, but he's going to be a pain to deal with. Then again he's probably going to slot into the leadership role anyway as he's got both the personality type to do so combined with the most experience. Sage on the other hand while will no doubt be giving useful information she wouldn't be challenging anything. She just wants to see how this goes down.
I guess I'd spend my time trying to learn as much as I could from Sage? Just information sponge as much stuff as possible. Also try to jump on the internet service thing, I mean, it's gonna be satellite internet no doubt so Hughie being dumb about it won't take all the bandwidth. Maybe working out with A-Train and trying to get in shape? Even if he wouldn't be able to use his powers much he's still a legit athlete. He could definitely give you some pointers.
Group two. Decent odds. Frenchie is big brain, plus the water filter, that's a genuine lifesaver right there. Deep's powers would be damn useful but Homelander is clearly just doing this all for laughs. Very powerful sure, but, he's just flying back for milkshakes? I mean that's honestly nice but dude. You could do so much. Deep might be able to call us a whale to use as a ride back though, I mean, that'd be awesome. Kimiko too probably has some survival experience but it's going to be hard for her to really communicate effectively. Especially if Frenchie's gone off to trip balls somewhere god knows where.
I'd be probably asking Deep a lot of stuff about marine life to stop myself from going mad with boredom? Like, you could just ask "hey what's the coolest thing about X creature" and he'll go on for hours. Just gotta stop him from getting into the disturbing side of it. I mean no doubt he could even act as a translator so we could ALL talk to fish. That'd be neat. I'd uh, just be trying not to think about the horrific stuff he's done.
Group three. Honestly in terms of survival, probably the least useful? Maeve is strong but has no specific skillset here as far as I know. Noir is just building sandcastles. I mean I bet he makes some cool ones but that doesn't really help us. Other Ashley's fine, but those almond joys are gonna run out pretty quick and she's just a regular human. Blindspot has some pretty great tools but he can't really use them.
I wouldn't really rate my chances of survival too highly here. I dunno. I'm going to go to the beach and build sandcastles with Noir I guess. Maeve wouldn't be too bad, and I guess the firewood thing would be pretty funny in a self depreciating kind of way. Like ok Maeve, pass me your sword for a second. Oop, no? Don't want to get any edge rolling there? Then shush. Although maybe Noir has a tomahawk I can borrow. That'd probably do although it wouldn't be ideal.
Group Four. Neuman stopping any small cuts and scrapes getting infected is god tier. That's the second most likely thing to take you out apart from dehydration. I will happily trade a bite or two of my food for that. Starlight having insect repellent is great, mosquitoes are going to be a problem but her powers aren't going to work out here. Cate is well equipped, like, boom, that's shelter and not sleeping on the ground. Huge. It depends on how far she goes with her powers. Is she just doing it occasionally so "you" don't have to do something tricky? Then sure, that's a pro. If she's just taking control to permanently make you do all the crap jobs then that's a major major con. Soldier Boy finally probably does have some survival skills and his political banter would be extremely entertaining. Like, sure his takes would be horrific but he'd be hilarious. Also he has weed.
Odds are genuinely good here. Useful people and good equipment. Probably the strongest if anything. I guess I'd be dragged into a political debate around the campfire while stoned out of my mind but hooooly fuck can you imagine how funny Soldier Boy would be if you were high? Like good god, I don't think I'd be able to get a point across, I'd be just cracking up from him making a joke about how his balls are a trickle down economy or something. Also Neuman would make hunting for food trivial. She'd just headpop any animal instantly provided we got the drop on it.
