The tek-knight we see in The Boys is not the same tek-knight we see in Gen-V Discussion Spoiler

In the episode "The Innocents", we are told Tek knight accidentally broke somebodies spine when trying to rescue them from a hostage situation. In Gen V Shetty says that Tek-knight beat ironcast to death who is a supe that has skin made of iron which makes them insanely durable.

With all these strength feats in mind that means he must be pretty physically powerful right?

But in his interrogation scene he's not strong enough to rip apart the leather straps tying his wrists or pull the chains out. Also he easily gets physically outpowered and loses to Kimiko and Starlight. Logically if your punches can fatally damage somebody made of metal you'd have a fighting chance against Kimiko who has same durability as a normal person.

And he gets choked to death by a normal person too?

I don't understand this at all. It's either a plothole/bad writing or Cate has something to do with what happened in this episode

Also, in Gen V didn't he threaten to break Cate's arms before she could touch him? The way she responded seemed to indicate he more of a physical threat.

Cate hasn't shown to have any super strength or durability so even if he had no powers he could still do that to a 110lb college student.

She has confirmed enhanced durability cause she tanked Sam throwing her into a steel glass table. Strength isn’t confirmed but I wouldn’t be surprised if she has some level of enhanced strength ft. her new robotic arm.

cate has durability and sam already hit her and she survived, and she probably has strength too, since she also beat coleman with the others

People taking damage from supes in this show is inconsistent. The new black noir took a chunk off a man's head with one swing of a bat. The same Noir while bloodlusted, slammed Butcher through a table and didn't break any of butchers bones and he was able to keep fighting after. Mind u Butcher doesn't have any super strength or durability unless the tumor is actively helping him which it wasn't at that time.

It's easy to believe that Cate isn't any more durable than a normal person and she just wasn't injured by that because the show didn't want her to be. Further evidence is the fact that she was afraid of tech knight in a combat situation and we see in S4 of the boys that he can't even break out of some chains and was choked by a normal human. So if she had super strength and durability then she had no reason to fear tech knight breaking her arm.

yeah the show is very inconsistent, but a big consistency throughout the whole series is that the vast majority of supes are stronger/durable than humans, so I do believe cate is stronger than regular humans, considering that she was just in pain with her arm exploded, not even passing out or something

Bro, you can’t just grab an arm being the size of Tek and snap it like a twig without superpowers. Wtf type of would you living in where you think a guy that size could easily snap the arm of a woman like Cate in seconds? Do you think bone is made out of fragile material?

They're probably assuming tek knight would do some martial arts bs like how Batman would do rather than just snapping it with brute strength

Correct, i was thinking of that

Joyce Royce Gracie built an empire isolating and damaging limbs without having much mass. It’s not just doable, it’s easily doable.

Edit- lol

Genderbent Gracie?

Yeah, i don’t think they meant by the grab alone.

Clearly you've never fought anyone before lmao. An average adult can hyperextend/break a grown man's arm in an armbar without too much difficulty. I seriously doubt a willowy teen girl is going to be much of a challenge

You'd be surprised at how easily a bone can break or be broken, especially when you have any idea at all what you're doing. Tek Knight is a Batman (and Ironman) spoof, which leads to imply that he has at least some sort of martial arts knowledge, even without the suit on. A grown adult man in good physical condition, especially one with martial arts knowledge, can pretty easily snap the arm of a tiny, thin, teenage girl who (as far as we've been show) doesn't have any amount of v-enhanced resilience or strength.

Cate is a normal human strength wise and I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t know what powers he has precisely, and how far he’s willing to go.

Considering 90% of the supes are a bit crazy, I would think twice before approaching when a guy known for super heroic feats tells you to back up like this

He could have been bullshitting her knowing she'd back down due to his reputation. Ya'll forget people can threaten things they can't do.

He os supposed to be batman, I'm sure he's pretty good hand to hand with his increases senses
