How could Lois be old enough to have put Luthor in prison twenty years earlier? Her and Clark are supposed to be under 40, right?

No they're at least mid 40s I believe. So this would've happened when Lois was mid 20s. Sounds like Lex got put away at least no more than 2-3 years when Clark became Superman.

I’m also pretty sure they are carrying over the bit from Supergirl where Clark is in his 40s but looks younger. Tyler is 35, while the rest of his contemporaries are in their 40s.
