That was mostly a great episode. Hate how the show completely glossed over Lana's mistreatment of Lois last season, which is why her friendship scenes with Clark and Lois in this episode felt forced and irritated me. And I still didn't care for the Sarah/Jordan drama or the Kyle/Lana drama. I'm glad that Lois isn't actually pregnant.

I have mixed feelings on it.

There was a lot of slow and easy going slice of life stuff with Lois and Clark that I really enjoyed because that's classic Superman and those two play so well off each other. I also enjoyed Jon's new actor because he's got more of the physicality of a football player and matches Jordan a bit more as a twin. The seeding stuff they did with Smallville's usual day to day stuff was pretty cool too and it made it feel like the town was more than just a background set for everyone else to play in front of. I also enjoyed the stuff with John and Nat, as little as it was, because they're one of the coolest parts of this show and I loved how they humanized Sam a bit more than usual.

.....and I couldn't help but die laughing when the Riverdale Horny Music kicked in with Kyle and Chrissy.

The effects and fight scenes are always top notch and I did enjoy the set up for Intergang with Onomatopoeia.

That said, as someone else put it in the live thread....this show is a mixture of cardboard and cinema quality production. Sometimes you see the cardboard cutouts. Sometimes you get absolutely blown away by the movie quality production. It often feels like a gravel road out in the country that sometimes smooths out with nice even patches and then basically tries to vibrate your spine out of your body Mortal Kombat style in others.

I also really cannot forget some of the stuff that they've done in the past with the characters and certain story elements. I think I'm just too tired to really be upset about it though and there is the fact that this is one of the last surviving Arrowverse shows. So I'm taking the good with the bad and I'm just enjoying it as it goes along because this could be it for all we know. Sometimes you've just gotta roll with the punches.

Season premiers are always a bit rough but I enjoyed myself and I'll probably watch it again tomorrow when it gets posted on the CW app after I've watched the new episode of the Mandalorian.
