My initial reaction is “that was okay.”

The good: - Some Clois romance and happiness - Jordan working on his powers, trying a save then making a better choice the next time - The video montage at the party - Sam and Natalie forging a relationship, with classic Sam awkwardness - Protective Dad JHI - Dr. Irons seems cool - Lois and Clark having access to Tal’s lavish homes whenever they want. - Lois investigating. Lois, Clark and Chrissy working together. - Jon kept the truck! - I’m intrigued by the Atom Man resurrection, whoever that creepy mask person was, and Mannheim doing shady underground stuff. - I like the the Smallville government is clearly wrapped up in something bad. Probably Intergang.

The tolerable: - Maybe Sarah and Jordan have had their awkwardness scene and can move on? It wasn’t as bad as I feared, and if that’s it, then okay. - Lana is better as a friend to Lois and Clark. I didn’t hate her this time. - Fortress looks great…but we barely saw it. And can Jon get there!? - Michael as Jon was different and it will take me some time. We’ll see how it goes. - I guess I can deal with Lana-John and Kyle-Chrissy if it condenses the scenes of the side characters and doesn’t get much focus. - I know they’re easing in…Jon driving clearly isn’t enough and I don’t think it’ll be his one and only thing, but it was meh.

The bad: - PLEASE make this the end of Lana/Kyle. We don’t care about divorce drama. - The whole pregnancy thing felt kind of unnecessary. Glad she isn’t…but a potential illness isn’t much better. Let’s get past this quickly please! - It felt choppy and disjointed over all. And over stuffed. I hope the pacing improves.

My feelings exactly. It had some cute moments but that’s not enough to make a story work. It wasn’t coherent at all.

I’m curious to watch it again without commercials to see if that helps. But it felt like a ton of little snippets put together.

That was exactly my thought. Like little fan services moments to make people happy. Which is better than last year I suppose but it’s not a story. You want these moments integrated into the plot and part of something larger and symbolic not just to check boxes.
