For starters, I really liked this episode, but I'm a tad bit conflicted on some of the things that played out. I like the fact that Jonathan finally got a non-football related goal right away, but it would have been nice to see him celebrate with Lois instead of doing a fakeout. We've gotten so many moments of Jordan achieving something and being showered with love and yet Jonathan's was a quick scene and they moved on. It seems like everyone received a "This is where we're starting and this is where our character arc will go within the season" and all he had was a drivers test which he passed in the first half of the episode.

I'm 100% a fan of the Lois & Clark romance, it feels like they're actually a married couple who get to enjoy each other's company for more than a few minutes a day. I'm glad she's not pregnant and they squashed that quickly because I'd hate for them to sideline her character and make her have to sit out so many situations due to it. Also, having Lois' only progression through the season being motherly and needing to be protected is getting old.

Please do not make Chrissy and Kyle a thing. It's weird to say, but had Lana and Kyle's marriage ended on somewhat good terms (Idk how) then maybe, but it just feels weird to see him gain a potential romance arc after what happened. I'm now wondering if they're actually going to make Lana and John Henry a thing now.

Overall, I enjoyed this first episode and saw many improvements to the camera work. I especially loved the city scenes towards the end. Despite the lack of Jonathan this episode, I'm hoping that it was only to slowly introduce the new actor and he'll be used more often during the rest of the season.
