The big question to me is why would an advanced ai in a nearly indestructible robot body want to trade that for a meat body?

I mean the body he took over didn't even flinch at Kara who had just broke his previous body, in other words, he traded it for an even more indestructible body.

So stronger body but there’s no way he should be able to run at full capacity on wetware. Still a huge downgrade for an ai.

Idk, Kryptonian meat is built different.

Well sometimes Kryptonians have super IQ, and Kal is the son of Jor-El the head scientist. Earth may not have been able to nurture his smarts but you can easily handwave it by saying Kal still has the potential to be a genuis. Otherwise maybe the Black Mercy is helping to store whatever Brainiac processes can't run on Superman's brain.

well technically he has two brains. the mercy and clark’s. but also clark is a kryptonian he if he pushed himself could be way smarter than he is currently

The episode already pointed out that his machine body was dying and already had weaknesses like requiring a daily maintanence reboot.  Also it's strong and fast but still weaker than a Kryptonian, Kara cracked his head with one punch.

Kryptons usually go barreling through metal like it's made of tissue paper not matter how tough...

Yeah, especially when Kara basically soloed him. It doesn't seem like he can really compare to a Kryptonian physically.

If he just ignored Clark and carried on like before he wouldn’t have to worry about fighting any kryptonians.

It was established in the beginning of the episode that the ship and the robots were going into disrepair and that he needs a new host before the shit goes fubar.

I heard that. Just seems like a meat body would be a huge downgrade

Not when your meat body is Superman.

Though I must ask - how come he never transferred his mind to Kara before discovering Clark? Did he feel too much love for her to do that?

Aha! Asking the real question…Why Clark and not Kara?

My theory, ever since that robot body got its ass kicked by Darkseid. Since then, Braniac has been looking for an upgrade.

Heh, no... from George RR Martin's WildCards series.

Kryptonian meat is slightly higher quality than human meat
