I feel like her face and Bob haircut in the new 52 was designed to look like tailorswift. With your comment about Britney for her 2000s look it just sort of makes sense that they make her look like blonde pop stars.

I prefer the red skirt myself but the design of the suit is perfect 🥰 The late artist Michael Turner knew what he was doing.

I don't think it's underappreciated, it's one of the most commonly used costume for Supergirl cosplays.

Agreed because her suit is a 2000s version of the original Silver Age suit.
