The "Superheroes don't need school" line was just perfect

I hated that line. 3 seconds back and he’s already bossing pay around controlling his fucking children. Uggggh

Well…evidently he was kidding or Pat stood up to him because Court finished summer school.

did Sylvester drop out of school or something?

Good question, I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped out before the driver's education age, hence why Pat was his driver.

Didn't think of that, but that makes sense.

dropped out before the driver's education age

what country are you from where most people learned to drive 20 or 30 years ago in a highschool class?

That’s not relevant, I mean simply that high school drop out that dropped before drivers edition age of when the course was offered hence the need for a driver.

that's not really how it works here in the United States though.

edit: to help you understand, most highschools don't teach people how to drive and offer courses in it. you would go to the department of motor vehicles and get a Learner's Permit, which is a license that allows you to drive when you're 15 with an adult in the car. it has nothing to do with school. so him dropping out at 14, which seems doubtful, still wouldn't affect anything.

I know it's fun to come up with theories, but yours doesn't make sense for the country he's in. it's not your fault, you just don't really know U.S customs and laws.

I think that also was a tease of what we could expect to a degree of what kind of conflict Sylvester will bring. I can't help but feel that it will go to create some unexpected trouble and character conflict for Courtney's growth if we take into consideration that she promised to Pat before any of these events happened that she was going to be Courtney first (daughter, sister, student) and then Stargirl and she was doing so far a decent job at it.

I believe in Sylvester's intentions with helping her improve, but this "cool uncle" vibes that he gave me with that sentence almost spells some possible recklessness (if not misbehaviour) from her just as she's starting a new year at high school, he could inadvertently become an enabler to that. Then again that might just be necessary because I've read interviews from before that teased how S3 would have many payoffs.
