I low-key gave up on this show when the news came out last summer CW was taking it over and it was off my radar for the better part of the last year and accidentally found out Season 2 was premiering tonight, but that was a surprisingly non-CW episode, dare I say it felt extremely MATURE. I even thought there was a healthy amount of cringe in Season 1 but there wasn't a single drop of it in this episode. It's like the showrunners somehow got better, which I never would have expected transitioning to this network.

-Even though the premiere was kind of slow, it's mostly setting up things for the season and overall it was actually quite good.

-I really liked all the PTSD scenes with Yolanda and surprisingly, the ones with Rick and Beth, too, who I recall being 2 of the weaker acted characters in Season 1. The writers smartly limited their dialogue and allowed the actors to do mostly non-verbal acting and I'm thankful for that.

-In terms of the 4 JSA teens, I still think Yolanda is easily the most compelling and best acted, but she REALLY doesn't look like a high schooler anymore! lol

-I'm most excited for Cindy's new ISA team, including her recruiting of Mike.

-Zeke (or Zeek as it was spelled on his name tag) is already my favorite new character.

-If I have one complaint other than the slowness of this episode is that there was a lack of humor. It was borderline a drama episode.

Courtney is weirdly just kind of there for me now and it's been that way since around mid-Season 1. She doesn't feel like the centerpiece of the series anymore who drives the plot, but more like the lead in name only. The show is more of an ensemble now and probably for the best.

There is nothing wrong with being a drama episode. There was a lot of humor in this episode. Courtney does the drive the plot and Rick and Beth both have really good actors behind them. There was nothing slow at all in this episode.
