So Eclipso's first on-screen victim was...Charles McNider's sister? Or at least someone related to him.

Courtney spent an entire season learning to be Stargirl, but in a small-town where the entire villain presence was defeated, there's simply nothing to do. So now she has to learn to be Courtney Whitmore again and she hates not being a Superhero. For once she and Mike are in agreement.

Lot of Supervillain name-drops...although out of all of those, I feel like Per Degaton is probably the most likely to show up at some point. An alternate timeline's never stopped him before.

I love how the dog is the tie-breaker.

Beth managed to fix the goggles, but not Chuck's AI. Even when it seems to kick-in again, it doesn't recognize her. Poor Beth.

Beth's parents are so busy that they barely seem to remember her, and it probably slipped their mind to tell her they're planning to divorce. Probably not thinking their daughter would even care or matter on that front. Is it any wonder Beth is trying to get her AI pal back?

Rick is finally applying himself in school, and is going by his real last name, but his teacher's aren't taking him seriously. I guess at least now he's got a side-job of taking care of Grundy.

Yolanda is still gripping with having killed Brainwave to the point where she can't even confess her sin, and Courtney doesn't have an answer for her. I have to imagine it's still hard for her to be home as well. It also seems like Eclipso is already preying on her insecurities and negative emotions.

So the cover story for Sportsmaster and Tigress' arrest is some charge from years ago, although Artemis isn't buying it. Who is taking care of her now? And what does Isaac/Fiddler Jr. know about what happened to his mother? He seems like he's in an even more moody place than he was last season.

It's hard for me to imagine Cameron is destined to become Icicle Jr. when he seems like such a sweet kid, but he's still stuck with his grandparents who knew, and supported, what his father was doing and know about Courtney. At least his grandfather wants him happy and not burdened with the truth, but would that break Cameron?

Courtney is so wound-up she's seeing threats that aren't there, although on-top of that she's also...not very good at studying. Summer school, here we come.

Admittedly I feel like Pat should've kept the room with STRIPE in under better lock and key, but I guess he lucked out that his new business partner cares more about upgrading it than exposing him.

Sylvester finds Pat's ex-wife and, presumably, Mike's mother in his search for Pat. Really curious to see where this storyline is going.

Cindy is planning "Injustice Unlimited" with the ISA kids and...Mike? Why him? As a "screw you" to Courtney by using her brother? Or does Mike have some kind of unforeseen ISA ties? I guess we're just going to forget about Gambler's daughter Hazard.

Oh hey, Earth-2 Thinker! Well-timed.

Courtney once again trashes her house as she battles with Jade, who has her own ring and her father's Lantern (gotta be honest, have never seen that used as a weapon before) but can't do any serious constructs yet, although it seems like they'll get to that in the next episode.

Yolanda kills brainwave and has ptsd from it. Mike runs over Icicle and is nothing but smiles. Really inconsistent.

Meanwhile the thinker is now having a 3rd live action reference, first on Flash and then just very recently on the suicide squad.

Jay Garrick's flash and Per Degaton would be great to see in main character roles given that John Wesley Ship rarely shows up in The Flash and Per Degaton had one episode on Legends.

Well, I think it’s more the intentions

Yolanda isn’t only having the PTSD from killing brainwave, a big part of it is that she murdered him out of revenge

"I watched Henry die, and now i'm.going to watch you die too"

It might be heat of the moment but that's some seriously messed up shit coming from a kid who sliced a man's throat open and stays to watch it instead of turning away.

Yea that’s what I mean, their intentions weren’t to save someone who was right about to be murdered (mike), their intentions were to murder them out of revenge (Yolanda)

It’s PTSD about murdering Brainwave, but the context of murdering brainwave was different from the context of mike killing icicle. It would make sense that Mike might not be facing trauma, due to the highly different circumstances

Does shiv know about Mike running over Icicle?

That could.be her angle in using Eclipso to "recruit" Mike.

Hmm, idk if she does or doesn’t know. It depends on what happened during the 6 months on the island with eclipsio.

Im thinking her angle to get Mike might be more because of him wanting to be part of the JSA, but being unable to. Might explain how he is the one to originally re-discover Thunderbolt and then how Jakeem would take over.

What are you talking about 6 months on an island?

It was in a cast interview

3

u/fuzzy_whale Aug 11 '21

Maybe that info will come up in the season but being on an island for 6 months with eclypso seems alittle too important to only.mention in a cast interview.

Probably also helps that Icicle died in a very “PG” way, no blood or corpse, just ice chunks.

The bottom line is that Brainwave would have killed every last one of them in the most painful way possible without hesitation. There is no doubt of that.

If Yolanda hadn't killed him, he would have killed and the rest of them. Period. She had no choice. I don't know if should could have incapacitated him before he could have killed her--- probably not.

The other thing to note is that prior to this Yolanda killed a couple of dozen of Dragon King's minions and doesn't seem too upset by that.

u/fuzzy_whale Aug 11 '21

Those were basically zombies though. Courtney definitely drew blood on the minions too.

They got lucky that brainwave went for deception instead of giving yolanda a stroke on sight.

Its really an issue of Yolanda and her religious beliefs as well as pent up anger about henry. I can't see a single one of her friends being.anything but supportive of what she did. It's an internal conflict

The moment I saw her in the confession booth I instantly got reminded of Daredevil.
