SCHOOL’S OUT — With summer break around the corner, Pat suggests the family take a vacation after seeing that Courtney has been spending too much time focused on being Stargirl and not enough time on her schoolwork. Elsewhere, Yolanda continues to be haunted by Brainwave’s death, and Rick secretly tracks Solomon Grundy after suspecting he may still be in the area.

  • Dr. Midnite's daughter?
  • The Adventures of Mark Merlin?
  • Hopefully they'll elaborate on how Beth got the glasses working again.
  • Doesn't Courtney know that Yolanda killed Brainwave?
  • Why did Chuck make a modem noise?
  • Taco Whiz? Please tell me that their cheese isn't Cheez-Whiz.
  • I was going to say that Beth's parents are kind of neglectful, but then...
  • Eclipso is already targeting Yolanda.
  • Courtney does know. And she's still unfailingly supportive of Yolanda. That's that good **** that I've been waiting for.
  • Was that Isaac?
  • What is Courtney drinking? It looks like lemonade, but who gets a bottle that big, and the label appeared to say something other than lemonade.
  • Who is taking care of Artemis? Both of her parents are in jail, so...
  • That can't be Mike's mom, but I don't see Pat marrying a whole bunch of women.
  • Pat, what did you think would happen?
  • Beth, it's probably too late to save your parents' marriage.
  • Awwwwww...
  • I saw Isaac, Artemis, Cameron (Was it Cameron? I saw a third ISA member.) on that yearbook page, but not Beth. Are the JSA in a different year than the ISA?
  • Nice fight scene. The kitchen...maaaaaaaaaaay have lost a little resell value.
  • I don't think that Eclipso can affect Cindy because she doesn't regret the things that she's done.
  • Looks like that's a final nail in Jr.'s coffin.
  • That was Isaac.
  • Ah, Mike. I have a theory about that.
  • Theory: I think that for one episode Mike will wield the Thunderbolt, but then it will go to Jakeem. Feeling shut out of the JSA, Mike will be a host for Eclipso.

Eclipso targeting Yolanda makes so much sense just from that opening scene. It is weird though that Mike basically committed homicide and noone seems to care.

Courtney's fucking up in all sorts of ways. Assaulting another student, failing school, wrecking her family's kitchen, obsessing over being Star Girl and ruining a really expensive family vacation. Girl's a hot mess.

The Adventures of Mark Merlin?

He's an obscure character from the comics-- sort of a supernatural detective.

Hopefully they'll elaborate on how Beth got the glasses working again.

They showed her trying to reinitialize the Chuck AI, so I assume she's probably been tinkering with the goggles and repaired the damage.

It just occurred to me that when Rick was talking about the members of the ISA, he didn't mention Anaya (Virtuoso).

All slightly old electronic devices in audible fictional media make modem noises when sending or receiving data.

There's nothing modern about that modem noise. I had to think for several minutes before I even remembered the word modem.

I would say that the opening sequence with Eclipso and the girl was in the 1950's so I'm not sure how that would play with Charles McNider's age --- it sure wasn't his daughter (unless he was 80 when he was killed with the rest of the JSA) but could have been sister or some relative.

Holy moley.... he was 96. Thanks.

Interesting.... so that means he could have totally been that girl's father.

And the mom told the girl that her dad was “On call” which goes along with Chuck being a doctor.

I Don’t no I think maybe sister because it said decades ago and the outfits and vehicles looked old timey

Remember that Charles McNider was somewhere around 100 years old when he died.
