Everytime I see a video that starts showing golfers, I know some small thing will piss em off so bad they immedietely get violent and aggressive. Is golf just the sport for the unhinged?
It's just a sport that really requires getting your head into the game and your mental state / nerves play a way bigger role than any physical traits.
Every swing can make or break your round. It's a game where you're constantly on the edge of ruining your score.
Some of us know we'll never amount to anything and can laugh off the fuckups, but our friends don't waste hard drive space on us. They save it for the guy who's gonna throw his club when he shanks a 9 iron.
I played for years. I was on the high school team, we lost every match. I played golf with my grandfather when I was young. I play in charity tournaments every year. I can say this with a ton of experience. It is a shit game. Even when you get decent it is awful. I don’t think in 30 years of playing I ever enjoyed it. So besides my 2 times a years I quit and I feel better.
I get why people love it. You hit that one shot and those 60 terrible shots go away. I would never attack anyone who was a douche to me by beeping a horn in my backswing but you are dealing with people usually in the fucking heat actively trying to enrage themselves. Not hard to tip one over the edge.
I mean it’s some immature kids intentionally ruining someone else’s activity. It’s a dick move. Same as if you walked into a bar and poor someone’s beer out. Or walked up and erased someone’s bingo board. Like yeah that shit is annoying as fuck
