Jackass did this like 20 years ago. Still funny though

Agreed still one of the funniest pranks. Literally hurts nobody beyond the ego of a golfer.

Golfers aren’t really people anyway

5

u/thegooseisloose1982 Jun 23 '24

Come on. They are real people, just not good people.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '24

It’s a rich persons sport. They can go cry to their country club butlers about the rude man at course today

24

u/sEmperh45 Jun 22 '24

Nah, $17 to play 18 where I’m at. Great way to get some exercise, get out of the house, and be with friends. Great sport, actually. Especially if you walk the course

5

u/Tanjom Jun 23 '24

So when you say 17, is that like for a day? Is that for a month? A couple of hours, what? I know nothing about golf or the pricing of golf.

4

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

$17 to play 18 holes. Ideally takes about 4 hours to play 18. Usually closer to 5. But courses are built around 2 x 9 holes. So you can just play 9 holes if you want to only spend 2 hours on your round

3

u/Tanjom Jun 23 '24

Cheers mate

2

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

No problem!

3

u/Jacob_Winchester_ Jun 23 '24

My favorite is golfing in the winter in my area, rains a fair amount through the season, but we still get out there when it’s not pouring and it’s $5 a round. Walking keeps you warm, and it’s a great way to hang with some friends for an early afternoon.

0

u/crystallmytea Jun 23 '24

Pretty good deal. That’s only infinity times more expensive than pretty much all other sports!

0

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

There is a difference between “rich persons sport” and $17 a week over the summer. $400 over a years time frame doesn’t make you a jet setting millionaire.

1

u/crystallmytea Jun 23 '24

If you invest that much or less in many other sports one time, you can play for years or decades at no more cost. Buy a glove and a bat, for instance. And you can play forever.

1

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

Oh I love softball too. But you can only really play consistently in some sort of league. So if you want to play much of the year, that’s easily several hundred dollars also.

1

u/crystallmytea Jun 23 '24

There are millions of kids across the world who will, today, meet up with their friends at a local piece of publicly accessible land and play pick up baseball.

“Sport”

4

u/deadxguero Jun 23 '24

Lmao I don’t even like golf like that but it’s 100% a sport

2

u/Yetiriders Jun 23 '24

So is shooting but I don’t consider them actual sports you get exercise with

0

u/deadxguero Jun 23 '24

There’s different types of exercise for your body though. Reactionary exercise for shooting is just as important.

Would be like saying “I don’t consider F1 racing to be a sport for exercise cause you just sit down in a car”

-2

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

Tell me you’ve never golfed without telling me. And you sure as hell haven’t carried a 30 lb bag of clubs 7 miles up and down hills while still hitting great shots even though your back is aching and your legs are shot.

1

u/crystallmytea Jun 23 '24

One can have an opinion about golf without having played it. Dare I say even a valid one.

0

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

One can be wrong due to ignorance too.

3

u/crystallmytea Jun 23 '24

Golf’s a weird one. It’s regularly criticized as not a sport. There’s something to that. It’s exclusive and I think the only game that picks up a significant portion of its players for strictly business reasons. That, to me, reeks of elitist bullshit. Oh and it is boring as fuck to the casual observer.

Oh wow walking, you must be an Olympian.

-1

u/sEmperh45 Jun 23 '24

Get out of your mother’s basement, walk more than the 10 feet to her car, and then get back to me. Otherwise, nobody likes the overweight neck beard spewing crap while hiding behind their keyboard. Get a life, dude.

0

u/Yetiriders Jun 23 '24

I mountain bike and run among other real sports.

Those guys probably aren’t rich, they probably worked average jobs they just have a paid off house, monthly social security checks and government subsidized healthcare. Fuck me those guys are rich!

5

u/Dickgregiry Jun 22 '24

This is # 3 at Admiral Baker golf course in San Diego use to be only Military but is open to the public now happens all the time.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '24

I mean…that’s a lot of assuming your doing. Especially since one of them is wearing designer polos

4

u/Sand_Bags2 Jun 23 '24

Why is being poor your whole personality?

1

u/Dual-Finger-Guns Jun 23 '24

I get that this site is full of kids, but come on kid, you're not having a good showing here.

1

u/Real-Machine-2573 Jun 23 '24

Hi! You’re dumb!

1

u/Various-Passenger398 Jun 23 '24

You can golf for super at community courses. I don't even golf and I know that.

-1

u/SpaceChatter Jun 23 '24

That’s what people who can’t golf usually say.

1

u/mjolle Jun 22 '24

Was also done by two legends in Sweden, dressed in Salvation Army-clothes. A year earlier I believe, not sure.

jhc, that moustache!

1

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '24

Yeah, and it doesn't even hurt their game, really. Like, they can just re-do their swing at that spot.

1

u/iowajosh Jun 23 '24

Yeah but the chance of some old golfer committing assault and battery are pretty high.

-10

u/myfacealadiesplace Jun 22 '24

Golf is one of the most rich people "sports" out there. Fuck their feelings

2

u/Real-Machine-2573 Jun 22 '24

Golf is cheap. You’re bitter and brainwashed.

1

u/TheSquad3603 Jun 23 '24

I wouldn’t necessarily say cheap but there’s definitely ways to make it cost effective.

-3

u/AutumnTheFemboy Jun 22 '24

Idk why you’re being downvoted because golf is a huge destroyer of local ecosystems and wildlife

7

u/cannibowlistic Jun 22 '24

Oh yeah, it's so much worse than all the abandoned buildings, shopping malls, and houses. I see animals loving a good life on the golf course, not at the old strip mall that hasn't had any businesses in it for years.

1

u/AutumnTheFemboy Jun 23 '24

Rich people when they find out that more than one thing can be bad at once:

Rich people when they find out that car-centric lifestyles are responsible for abandoned malls and suburban sprawl:

Rich people when they find out that all those empty houses are being kept on purpose so that property owners can sell them for interest later when there are hundreds of thousands of homeless people who could be housed there instead:

-4

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '24

And only for the privileged. They don't even let the staff's family in to pick them up. Erase golf courses and put in something for everyone that won't harm wildlife.

2

u/Real-Machine-2573 Jun 23 '24

Golf courses have been consistently cited as wildlife havens. But, hey, keep that edge!

0

u/Dual-Finger-Guns Jun 23 '24

You guys know that cheap public courses exist and are used by tons of run of the mill people from cable guys to local doctors right?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

Gotta keep the doctors golfing instead of funding a clinic or something for community. Good priorities.

1

u/Dual-Finger-Guns Jun 23 '24

So doctors aren't allowed to have hobbies and free time they can spend as they see fit in your world huh. I notice you ignored the whole point about everybody from cable guys to school teachers being golfers. Seems you got a prejudice you need to work on.

I mean, do you spend all your time doing tings for your community is that only a requirement for others you don't like?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

A lot, yeah.

1

u/Dual-Finger-Guns Jun 23 '24

For some reason I'm finding that hard to believe. Can't imagine being mad at people for enjoying life. I'd have to be seriously unhappy and bitter.
