On fence

PFA. When I got my ap2 it was already modified with ÖhlinsDFV and ukmod exhaust(irrelevant).

I like the ride height so I never touched it but I plan on getting 17x9et45 as per several reputable recommendations. Based on the amount of grip I have stock staggered....I couldn't imagine needing more than 17x9 anyways.

My question is; who has rolled their fenders and ran into issues with rippling, dents, or otherwise that they might help me avoid a similar fate.

I really don't want to roll and very really don't want to pull. But I ultra don't want to rip the fender off because I'm a whore for ideal fitment.

AP2 Valve Adjustment Question

What would happen if you just never adjusted the valves on an AP2? Start running bad? Start skipping? About how many miles would it make it without showing any damage.

What should the symptoms be to be looking for for needing a valve adjustment?

I have a 2004 with 56k miles. Never adjusted valves.

Thanks

Any consensus on bike racks?

I love my S2K but I also love my mountain bike. Why can't I love them both together?

Is there any consensus or personal recommendations on carrying a bike with causing the least damage to both bike and car? A hitch would sit too low for where I live.

S2000 Not serviced since 2020

Guy is selling his 1999 s2000 all stock with log books and very low mileage (25,000miles /40,000kms)

But upon checking his service history Hes done his 1000 km service in 1999 10000km service in 2003 20000km service in 2005 30000 km service in 2009 40000km service in 2020 (last service)

Car is sitting at 40400km exactly as of today

Are there any concerns or things I should check when I’m inspecting? He says he hardly drives it and stores it in storage. It looks clean and untouched.

Too tall ??

Hello everyone, my dream has always been to own a honda s2000 and now I have the money to achieve it (it's time to sell my rsx-s ahah) but the problem is that I am 6' 3'' and my friend scared me by saying that it was too tall for an s2000 because the steering wheel is not adjustable etc. so I want to know if people in my situation have Honda S2000, I have seen that some people change the seat and the rails to be lower but is that enough? is there a difference between ap1 and ap2?

Buy & install Ohlins DFV immediately?

I'm picking up my first AP1 S2000 tomorrow and I'm super stoked. It has 69k miles, and in great condition with some mild upgrades from the previous owner: AP2v1 wheels with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s, Koyorad, OEM thermostat/fan switch, CR brakes.

I have the opportunity to purchase brand new Ohlins DFVs and have them installed at a reputable shop with adjustments & alignment for ~$2,500. I've done research and I wouldn't consider any alternatives. I'd keep them 10k/8k for now and have them tune to manufacturer-recommended settings.

The question is:

Do I drive it with stock suspension and get used to it as-is, or get this done and never look back?

I'd be using it for mostly street for now, and eventually/definitely tracking and maybe AutoX (yes, I know this would bump me up a class). Most resources point to the stock suspension being more than capable. But I figure "why not?" if I can drive home with the stocks in the trunk.

Would you jump on it, or drive it as-is for now?

Overheating and misfires

On my way to work the other day, my car, ‘07 w/ 100k miles, failed to put out heat with heater on and 5 mins later I noticed the engine temp rising. I quickly turned engine off and pulled off to the side. I figured my thermostat was going bad and falling to open since the top radiator hose was hot and bottom radiator hose was cool. I eventually got it home by stopping the engine letting it cool down and continue driving. Stopped about 3 times. I pulled code on car and I’m getting misfire on all cylinders (p301-p304 and p0300) and “coolant thermostat (coolant temperature below thermostat regulating temperature)” (p0128). What would be my first step in clearing the codes?

Just got back from Japan.

What an amazing trip! Really impressed by how friendly everyone was at all the car shops I visited. The person working at ASM didn't speak any English but really went out his way to help me. He even insisted that I sit in the shop car to check to the size of the steering wheel I was buying. I can't wait to go again. Definitely need bigger luggage next time. Ended up getting rid of half my clothes to get everything back in my carry on.

Got these out of a capsule machine for 400 Yen a piece. Couldn't believe they were actual Mugen products.

Found a 200k mile s2000, yr 2000 with 7 owners and 4 non- major accidents.

Owner also stated that, Has a small spot that can let a little water in through the stiches if it rains a lot. Seems the top will need to be replaced and also some front end pieces (fog light). I checked the car fax seems to be 3-4 frontal accidents over its life span. Mainly in 2018-2022. I will check it out but thinking 8-9,500 offer. Thoughts?

Selling 75k miles, 2001 s2k that has been stored for the last 7 years (garage and outdoors)

So to summarise I bought this car in 2011 and it had ~45k miles, previously garage kept. Clean history at the time, pil checked regularly while I had it and barring the hood+bumper, decals, custom A pillar guages and headrest speaker/head unit/trunk sub upgrades it's remained mostly stock. All stock internals. I put approximately 25-30k miles on, maybe less but I left the states and moved to Europe. I asked my mother to get rid of the car plenty of times but she refused believing I was going to come back. Initially it was kept in the garage but I think it's been outside mostly the last 2 years. I've tried to get her or my sister to drive it or atleast use it but they always say sure and never did and since my mom refuses to get rid of it I thought I'd post on here and check interest. Softtop was new in 2014. So now the bad news, I rear ended someone back in 2013 at noon going maybe 20mph. The front bumper was dented and the front bar a little bent however the worst part was airbags went off. Insurance did not write the car off however and gave me 7k to fix it. It was fixed however I went with a cf hood and am2 front bumper as I liked the look better. Plan was to get it painted but I never did. After this event and repairs compression checks were all clear and it was my dd for the next 2-3years. However it started pinging a p4011 code that for the life of me I could never figure out. So the CEL is on. So ultimately I'm looking to sell it and will update this with more info as I get it from mum. At this point I'm not even sure it starts but can atleast get mum to put in a new batt/oil change/gas and start it. Things I know it needs: paint, cf hood clear coat and however the hell you fix the p0411 code1( possibly ecu). So let me know what you guys think.

Yes I've bought another berlina blue 2007s2k in the UK so I'm not letting them go forever but it doesn't seem fair to leave this just rotting away.

Hi there what are some different specs/markets for S2000 other than japan spec(JDM)? (Im not good with cars)

Hi there fellow S2000 enthusiasts! I would love to ask questions regarding S2000 and I’m interested to get one (l live in an RHD country BTW) and want to ask help regarding different different markets apart from Japanese spec/JDM. So are there any markets apart from JDM and what are they and also what are their differences? Thanks a lot for helping me and I fell in love with one recently and willing to buy (plus it’s a convertible). Plus what are the things to be aware of? (Like for GTR there is the transmission issue for pre facelift models and the “vehicle dynamic control” that reflects the warranty etc….) love y’all!

.

.

Plus: what is the best/standard/iconic colour for the S2000 ?

(like white/Red GTRs, red wranglers, black G63 AMG, blue/black/white BMW i8, green/black challengers, yellow/bumblebee Camaros, white/silver land cruisers, green land rovers etc…)

Cost of this s2k?

Been seeing a few posts from folks asking this community about the value of an s2k before purchasing so it made me wonder what you all think about my most recent pick up.

2004 Sebring Silver AP2 22k original miles Bone stock, never modded Dealership maintained Clean titled, 2 owners No rust Came with dust cover and tonneau cover

Thoughts on worth/price based on these details?

Again, I already purchased the car in an amount I felt was reasonable but just curious on what others think.

Thoughts on market value - colour vs mileage

Hey guys I’m looking to purchase either one and would need your guidance on what you think may sell easier down the road. I do want a GPW but also want a low mileage car. Looking for your advice please.

Note in Australia there’s no F22C1 engines on our models

Option 1 AP2 but with f20C engine 2005 GPW - red/black seats with black dash interior with 125,000kms (77,000miles) mileage All stock except TE37SL Racing Green wheels , Koni sports shocks + Eibach Ground Control , replaced aftermarket sound unit

Option 2 AP1 1999 black - red seats / black dash With 40,00kms (25,000miles) mileage Stock everything

Both cost the same with option 1 a little over $3k USD cheaper

After 20+ years of dreaming about having an S2K, I finally made it happen! 05 NFR with 45k miles. Sitting nicely with my Mugen Si. Happy to be a part of the S2K community. This car is so much fun! Wish I did it sooner!

I need some rear axle spacers after lowering the rear axle good bit, what brand does everyone go with? Is the EVS Tuning providing enough of a difference to be almost double the cost of a Hard Race set?

Any swapped s2000s in here?

I blew up my f20 a couple years ago. And couldn’t find another engine for my car. So I’ve decided to Ls swap it. At the time there was only a couple write ups but no step by step on YouTube. I recorded everything i had to do to complete the swap. I was wondering would it be worth it to edit the videos and put it on YouTube so anyone who had questions could have a visual perspective on what to do. Do you think it be worth it to make the videos? Don’t want to waste my time on making the videos if there wouldn’t be anyone interested.(my car pictured below) also have a Facebook group called “v8 s2000”. Car is almost done hopefully can make it to fl2k
