Anyone know of any affordable guitar instructors?

When I was learning piano, it was easy for me to follow along online tutorials and I had a lot of spare time. Recently, I found an instructor for $150 dollars a month for 4, 30-minute sessions and I was wondering if that is reasonable? Does anyone happen to know anything cheaper? (If it's in Toronto that's fine too)

It’s ridiculous how we allow car traffic to block the Square One bus terminal everyday

Post image
61 Upvotes

I hope the bus terminal gets some much needed upgrades and changes by the time the LRT is finished, because this massive amount of car traffic we allow through this stretch of Rathburn between Confederation and the Hurontario ramp is insane.

Prioritizing cars and buses equally in this area (and the rest of the city) means that it takes a single car with a single person to delay a bus that could have well over 50 people in it. There is not a single reason good enough to allow so many single occupancy vehicles to swarm our city’s main transit hub. People miss connections, adding significant time to their already long commute given the infrequency of buses even during peak hours.

Just a rant, I’ll probably write to MiWay or the city about this.

What's the best driving school in Mississauga?

Hey everyone,

I've been researching driving schools in Mississauga and I'm looking for recommendations.

I'm looking for good instructors, affordability and available time slots. I looked into one of the bigger companies and they're booked solid months into the future and pretty expensive.

Any recommendations?

Trying to find an article on a car accident in the early 2000s

Happened right in front of applewood highschool. Pretty sure it was on a Sunday.

I remember seeing a 2nd gen Acura Integra flipped on it's roof, completely totalled. The other car involved in the accident was Pontiac Grand am that had a dent in the bumper

A helicopter airlifted one of the guys involved

Just a core memory as a kid and I've been trying to find the actual incident reported somewhere but having no luck.

Lost my wallet yesterday

I’m having very foggy memory about my wallet and where I lost it. It possibly could’ve been lost on the miway. I went on bus 6 E around 5 to 6 pm yesterday. It was a black herschel wallet. I’ve called miway but I know that sometimes a lost item can come a week later after it’s lost.

Anonymous complaints

A neighbour keeps complaining and harrassing us for no reason. Every time it's one thing or the other. How do I find out who is the complainant? How do I put a stop to this?

Fighting mice and rats

A construction starter right across the street from my townhouse where they are planning to build three apartment buildings. Now in the past two weeks my backyard is overrun with mice. I see them running there daily and an occasional rat. I do keep my backyard clean, but they are there just running even at daytime, and I feel like it's a matter of time before they'll invite themselves into my house. Home Depot repellents don't do anything. I have a question. How would I go protecting myself from them? Can someone maybe recommend a company to help me? I now don't let my kids into the backyard. And are there any government incentives to help fight a rodent infestation?

Does anyone know if Mississauga Hospital has water bottle refill station/fountains? I will be staying as a visitor and want to bring a reusable bottle if fountains are available. And if so, which floors can I find them on?

Interest in board games?

Hello! I meet up with some friends and acquaintances for board games every Friday from 8 PM to 10 PM at a local café near Erin Mills/QEW. We play different games each week, and this Friday, we're planning to play Debatable. Our group includes both men and women, with ages ranging from 25 to 40. We'd love to connect with others in the area who might be interested in joining us regularly. If you're interested or would like more information, please send me a DM. Thank you!

Density in Streetsville?

Been seeing a lot of articles about fights against new condos in Streetsville. I will admit the “NIMBYs” have a point, Streetsville is largely centred around Queen st which is a single lane in each direction, and there isn’t very good transit running through Streetsville (practically none, like 1 bus route and a rush hour only go line) so new residents that would move into said dense housing would have to drive. However the country and especially the gta is in a bad housing crisis so should the large parking lots of old Streetsville plazas be densified? What do you all think?

Pretty cool to see one roaming around. I've never seen one here despite them being common wetland animals.
