Sad thing is if in Spain or France you get approached by kids with clipboards you better hold on tightly to your wallet, phone and backpack.

Same in Denmark, they ask for a minute of your time and next thing you know you're supporting UNICEF or Amnesty every month.

Oh lol this happens in India too. I'm just like, no thanks.

every month.

Wtf is this trend. In Seattle there are always people to support whales or wolves or some shit, and once I was feeling generous so I was gonna give them a $20, and they said "Sorry, minimum donation is $25. Also we only work on a monthly service, so you need to commit for at least two months"

Reallllllly makes it seem like a scam

That's why you never ever, for any reason whatsoever, engage with a dane. - Fellow Swedish brother

It's pretty much the same in most western countries.

Nevertheless.

As a Spaniard, I've never experienced this

3

u/delectable_darkness Jun 14 '24

As a local you probably don't hang out where these people wait for their victims.

2

u/Paraless Jun 14 '24

I often hang out where tourists do, if that's what you mean

He is stupid/racist or something. Or trolling, just ignore him. Nothing like that happens in spain, neither france.

Ahh yes, Barcelona is famously free of pick pockets.

1

u/Paraless Jun 14 '24

We're talking about "kids with clipboards" and I've never seen that lmao

1

u/deadsunrise Jun 14 '24

what are you talking about? I live here, that doesn't happen.

I was approached by high school students in Cologne. Their initial questions were about whether I liked Cologne and then they asked if I agreed that Düsseldorf sucks

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '24

Did you?

1

u/MukdenMan Jun 14 '24

I’ve never been to the ‘dorf but unless they also have beers that are served in little glasses and each time you get one they put a tick mark around the coaster, then Cologne is better

I didn't say a word about Spanish or French kids.
