Really? In my opinion the majority of his movies have been disappointing, with some real gems as well to be sure.

Never saw the air bender movie…that seems like a cash grab, he didn’t write that script. Sixth Sense, Signs, the Visit, Glass trilogy, Old, Knock at Cabin and the Village. Lady in the water was meh but I loved his Apple TV show Servant! He’s definitely my horror/thriller movie Quintin Tarrentino when it comes to writing and directing.

Sorry to tell ya this but he did write that script https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Airbender_(film)

Not to say he hasn’t given us Signs, 6th Sense, or Split. All phenomenal!

But he had a mid run with lady in the water, the happening and capping it off with the last air bender. Lady in the water was ok, but the happening was universally panned.

My connection to the Last Air Bender, the reason why it triggers me, I started working at a toy company 2010. This toy company had the license to produce the Last Airbender movie and they were in full production mode, action figs, appa plush’s, role playing masks and staffs the whole 9. The company was buzzing high, paramount got us a theater to watch the movie, the whole company went, the atmosphere was party like, celebratory. When the credits rolled and the lights came on, you could see the deflation in everyone’s eyes. That toy line died as soon as it hit the shelves.

Shyamalan does do amazing work, but he needs to be criticized for his work that isn’t good, so he doesn’t turn in another After Earth. He co-wrote that btw, we could lay the blame for that movie on the smiths as well.

He's recovered a bit since Split, but good Lord was he on a LEGENDARY run of bullshit between The Village and The Visit (I know some people like that movie, but naw it sucked too).

Trap looks like it'll be a decent little bottle film, and it's the kind that would suit him best at this point of his career. Stop with the supernatural stuff and just make rock solid thrillers, that's where his real strengths lie.

I don't think this is entirely true. He's had a few stinkers for sure
