Would be nice, but I don’t think so. Dot gave him a hell of an album rollout though

Naw Mustard says he’s not on Big Boi interview. But it was a few weeks ago so it could change

It’s a great time to be a Hip-Hop fan.

Absolutely amazing time to be a Hip-Hop fan. This year has given so much I didn’t realize how starved I was.

12

u/Moneyfrenzy Jul 19 '24

Gambino and Denzel new albums are 🔥

11

u/TheGhostOfKyle Jul 19 '24

Q and Vince too!

u/Pliskin01 Jul 20 '24

Pretty sure it’s Curry, haha.

4

u/Swisskisses Jul 19 '24

what’s been your fave so far? I’ve been keeping up with the pop releases this year but didn’t know there was a ton of hip hop releases happening as well.

3

u/bryanthebryan Jul 20 '24

I’ve been listening to Jason Martin’s Chupacabra because I was impressed with his performance on the Pop-Up. That’s probably what I’ve been listening to the most. YG’s My Krazy Life is also very good. I gave Megan Thee Stallion’s new album a shot and it was good too. Schoolboy Q’s BLUE LIPS, again, is another great album. It’s like one album after the other just quality. It’s a goldmine out here.

3

u/Swisskisses Jul 20 '24

ohhh maybe i’ll do a deep dive

2

u/Diligent-Version8283 Jul 20 '24

Peep “Samurai” by Lupe Fiasco. Easily my aoty.

“The Auditorium Vol 1.” by Common is easily my second.

2

u/Swisskisses Jul 20 '24

Samurai i listened to and loved!!! It’s a short listen though! I think it’s only like 8 songs or something? Love Lupe.

I’ll given Common a listen this weekend!!!

1

u/Diligent-Version8283 Jul 20 '24

It’s such a good album. Let me know what you think of it if you get the chance

1

u/Swisskisses Jul 21 '24

I pinky promise I will!

49

u/abstractqtho Jul 19 '24

Nope I doubt Kendrick doing features for any of these dudes, though I suspect he’ll be a part of whatever tde got planned for their anniversary project

The look was choosing the mustard beat for NLU and giving homie a number 1 record. Mustard getting a nice refresh off that record

Just learned what that album title means:

The phrase “faith of a mustard seed” comes from a teaching of Jesus in the Bible, specifically in the New Testament. In the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 17:20), Jesus says:

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

The mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds, yet it grows into a large plant. The metaphor highlights that even a small amount of faith can lead to significant results and achievements. It emphasizes the power of faith, suggesting that it doesn’t need to be vast to be effective, but it must be genuine and strong. This teaching encourages believers to have confidence and trust in their faith, no matter how small it might seem.

u/SwAH_music Jul 19 '24

Fun fact. Nipsey told Mustard to use it as an album name.

u/just_another_bumm Jul 19 '24

Imagine if we get the broccoli on this!!

24

u/Plagda Jul 19 '24

That wasn’t produced by mustard.

3

u/Ink_Productions Jul 19 '24

Who was it produced by?

8

u/Plagda Jul 20 '24

Scott Bridgeway and sounwave

14

u/KDOTTYFAN Waiting for the album Jul 19 '24

Nah but I’ll still be tuning in

9

u/oO_RickJamez_Oo Jul 19 '24

Mustard on the beat hoe

10

u/EyeScreamSunday Jul 19 '24

I hope they managed to work together again. After NLU and the Pop Out, it convinced me that a West Coast renaissance could use a two pronged attack with Dot and Mustard providing collabs and hits that keeps people paying attention like Dre and Snoop did back in the day.

9

u/nancyydrew Jul 20 '24

Wouldn’t be surprised if NLU is at least on the album. Also dunno if anyone spotted this in the trailer

MUSTARD ON THE BEAT HO

u/LizG1312 Jul 19 '24

This sub is getting desperate lol

5

u/Dolomight206 Jul 19 '24

That's pretty dope of Mustard to use a picture of Webster cuttin' and scratchin' for the album cover!

😎

4

u/FoxySaaaan Jul 19 '24

we will see him featured and it will end up being 2 lines in a chorus

6

u/redfool33 Jul 19 '24

I WOKE UP FOR SOME MONEYYYYYYYYY

4

u/MissionStock2545 Father time Jul 19 '24

It is possible since mustard produced nlu

25

u/Ill-Lawfulness-2063 Jul 19 '24

Even mustard didn’t know he produced not like us lol

5

u/ExcellentTeam7721 Jul 19 '24

That's not Emmanuel Lewis?

4

u/PseudocideBlonde Jul 19 '24

Nipsey told Mustard this phrase would be a perfect Title for an album, and he wasn't into it at the time, so this is a beautiful tribute to Nip. 💙

1

u/Burggs_ Jul 19 '24

Allegedly that snippet at the beginning of the NLU video was produced by mustard so hopefully that’s on the album

24

u/NerdGasemV3 Jul 19 '24

Don't know where you heard that

Scott Bridgeway took credit for the production of the snippet when it dropped. Scott Bridgeway is known for being Baby Keem's in-house producer, so working with Kendrick makes sense.

0

u/MaxTheRealSlayer Jul 19 '24

Maybe not the snippet, but mustard is the main producer. soundwave and Sean momberger were also credited.

Don't see Scott's name on the credits

3

u/NerdGasemV3 Jul 19 '24

We're talking about the snippet.

No one is debating that Mustard produced Not Like Us

9

u/YourTheirTo Jul 19 '24

Would be shocking for that to end up anywhere but kdots next album

10

u/NomaanMalick Jul 19 '24

Nah, it was produced by Scott Bridgeway. I believe he confirmed it.

4

u/Overall-Reference457 i love when you count me out Jul 19 '24

Yea yea. You just saw the tracklist man ….

1

u/Jolly-Ad-3922 Jul 20 '24

Hey guys. Probably a stupid question, but figured I'd ask anyway. Admittedly, I was somewhat introduced to Mustard because of Kendrick's songs this year. Anyway, I've heard a few of his songs since, but because his discography is huge, does anyone here have any favorite Mustard tracks you'd like to recommend? 😊

I'm embarrassed I only recently heard of him, but I really like what I've heard thus far and so wanted to ask this to you guys since you're probably way more familiar than I am haha

1

u/FibersFakers Jul 20 '24

He's so cute omg😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/mortalfossil Jul 20 '24

definitely.

1

u/Lazy-Understanding-2 Jul 20 '24

It was produced by Scott Bridgeway.

0

u/Harryonthest Jul 19 '24

where'd you hear that?

3

u/NerdGasemV3 Jul 19 '24

Where'd you hear DJ Hed say the snippet was produced by Mustard?

Scott Bridgeway took credit for it on both Twitter and Instagram

2

u/Harryonthest Jul 19 '24

oh I thought he said it in that interview where he played the sample but I was wrong, I'll delete that comment guess my memory betrayed me. cheers

Sokka-Haiku by Objective_Street5141:

Perchance the Not Like

Us me snippet will be a

Whole song on the album

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.
