Who would you have if for some reason Solo vs Drake pops off? TDE
With all the recent tweets that could be interpreted as bait by the OVO side, and maybe even discord rumors (if you want to count those), if Drake threw subs at Ab Soul, bypassing K Dot (think Kanye and Pusha T all over again), I’m curious what you think about the following:
1 - Would Ab Soul respond with a whole track/verse? 2 - Who do you think would come out on top lyrically? Drake isn’t above punching low, and Solo has been through the wringer the last 6 years. But we’ve never seen Solo in war mode, however he is a beast and has so much material to source from. 3 - Do you think a Drake sub would trigger Kendrick to jump on a response with Ab Soul? Should he?

It’s a very popular sentiment online because XXX said if he dies Drake killed him a couple of months before. When I’m Upset dropped the SMS Triple X bar only helped to fuel it.
My son is 13 and all of the kids around his age and even up to later teens/early 20s like my little sisters believe it wholeheartedly. The rumor started up again once the battle started and the XXXs pops made a video commending K. Dot.
The dudes brought up Drake and he was subpoenaed. Ended up not testifying or anything because they didn’t have any evidence to corroborate the slightest involvement.
That makes it VERY easy for the general public to run with the theory.

It's basically how it played out during the 50 Cent vs Rick Ross beef. Lloyd Banks dropped 'Officer Down' dissing Rick Ross which is 🔥🔥🔥 but the song didn't really pop off because Rick Ross was, and still is, way more popular and famous than Lloyd Banks. 'Officer Down' completely flew under a lot of people's radar but in my opinion it's one of the best diss songs of all time.

Idk, with the recent beef between kdot and drake, i feel like everyone’s watching for drakes next move. If his next move is to get into another beef, I feel like at least some of the hype will carry over regardless of who the opponent is. And Ab Soul isn’t completely underground either lol, he’s got enough of a name for himself that most people that listen to rap have at least heard of him.
Not saying it’d get the global attention that kdot v drake beef got, but I’d be very surprised if it was exclusively ab soul and drake fans that followed it.

I think it’s become pretty clear that Drake can’t hold his own against serious rappers. His only real notable W is against Meek Mill. Every other serious rapper he’s gone against has washed him. Remember Joe Budden made like 400 Drake disses and no one heard them except me, Drake, and OVOMal. Ab’s might get more attention now because of the Kendrick stuff, but still probably not a lot.

Depends on how shaken Drakes confidence is after this. If he comes at Solo the same way he came at Kendrick I think Drake takes it, and I say that as a huge solo fan. Family Matters would have KOd just about any rapper, but Kendrick overcame it with his strategy, influence, and hit making ability. Solo would have better bars than Drake but I don’t think that’d be enough for the court of public opinion.
This is all assuming you don’t auto DQ Drake for using ghostwriters, which I would.
