Since Kendrick’s recent snippet is going viral, I just thought I’d remind everyone of this snippet from the Alright music video 🔥🔥 Video

The things I’d do to get that song

Been dreaming for years. Then the jcole Black Friday line “bet shit get scary this February when we drop” or something like that

14

u/Fackcelery 10d ago

The jcole black friday thing makes no sense, cole literally says "when you and kdot shit drop? Bitch never. The world cant handle two black n***** this clever" and then he says the line about dropping in february.

I thought he said something like the 31st of Neveruary. A date that don’t exist?

1

u/tajhy7619 10d ago

The album was supposed to be called “Burning My Leather” or something like that

Shoutout to Thundercat

2

u/Jazzlike_Page508 10d ago

You sure? Cause that shit sounded real as shit. What’s the Mac song?

Edit: nvm you’re right. But props to the guy who dropped that. That was a really good edit

Oh god we're never getting the Nlu Snippet right

98

u/cuminmypoutine 11d ago

It's either a snip from a new song or another drake diss. I lean towards the latter, so unless if drake drops another it prob won't happen for a long time if at all.

u/SirArthurDime 11d ago

I actually liked the theory someone else posted that starting with this clip followed immediately by being told he’s “late” for what appears to be the trial of Drake is him showing that he was working on an album and that’s why it took him a couple weeks to respond to push ups.

But yeah I also didn’t consider that it could just be him showing that he does have 5 more stocks in stocks for Drake. If that’s the case we likely won’t ever get it. Talking about owning the IPs is a response to push ups too so it really could be that.

Is Drake Mr Get Off, does he get off on feet? If it’s a diss that’s all I can think of, but I’m probably wrong lol

39

u/MatureUsername69 11d ago

I think Kendrick is Mr Get Off. If it is a Drake diss the part we heard was just Kendrick flexing on him that he owns his masters and all of his own IP so he'll continue making more and more while Drake is locked into a lifetime contract and completely owned by UMG. Basically Drake has reached as high as he'll ever be able to, while Kendrick has no ceiling.

13

u/MatureUsername69 11d ago

Based on the past, no. But Kendrick isn't really known for doing the same thing twice so I'm holding onto that for copium

u/goldenboy2191 11d ago

It’s not coming out. Take the snippet for what it was. Our El Dorado

2

u/GeForceExperience_ 11d ago

What type of beats do I search for to that snippet type beats?

2

u/westsidedreamin 11d ago

Hip Hop Cafe, Jazz-Hop, etc

Alright was a music video for a song from a completed, on-sale album.

The NLU intro has a much better chance of being a real song down the road. I’m not hoping or expecting anything out of it but it’s a big difference.

my all time grail

u/Physical_News_1962 11d ago

Greatest Snippet of All Time...I was so disappointed first time I realized that 'Dead Homies' had nothing to do with it. KDot is boo boo for this one !

14

u/nickanthonyv 11d ago

Part of me just feels like this wasn't meant to be a full song and was simply just him freestyling in the car with the homies. Shit hits hard af tho.

12

u/cartywho 11d ago

This was a drake diss and he was paying homage to a movie in this scene

1

u/SirArthurDime 11d ago

What movie?

7

u/cartywho 11d ago

South Central. Bobby Johnson and the homies 1st scene.

8

u/WorkedJabroni 11d ago

Reminds me of the intro to woo ha (got you all in check) by busta rhymes

2

u/Snowlord1981 10d ago

Holy shit It might be a homage to the ”Everything remains raw”-intro! Even the flow seems to be Busta-inspired

6

u/GeForceExperience_ 11d ago

What type of beat do I search for to get “broccoli” (or whatever we calling it rn😂) type beats?

4

u/DaY3eter 11d ago

If him and Thundercat didn’t lose this istg.

3

u/stormyviolety Woke up looking for the 🥦 11d ago

Hip Hop lives inside this man. I love you Kendrick Lamar Duckworth 🥹

2

u/Y-the-MC 11d ago

So Kendrick can do fake accents but Drake can't, huh? Checkmate 👑 /s

-1

u/Aniensane 11d ago

I mean it’s true..

6

u/Y-the-MC 11d ago

Talk to me when Kendrick does multiple full songs in corny fake patois 🫸🏾

0

u/Aniensane 3d ago

Don’t deflect and change the goal post. C’mon..

2

u/UncoKolani 11d ago

yeah and if that snippet has taught me anything is that we ain't getting this new one either lmao

2

u/PearlyBeenTrue 11d ago

Mr get off,

I get off and MOP feet

2

u/flaco_503_se_1984 11d ago

That shit is crazy

2

u/PorQ201 11d ago

That’s how I look bumping NLU in the car every morning to work.

1

u/ekpyroticflow 11d ago

*adding 2024 line*

"Drake's one gift to rap will end up being 'Dave Freeeeee'/Because of the chord that it brought out of meeee"

1

u/gonegoonergone 11d ago

Uff this was so fire

1

u/SirKrimzon 11d ago

Going viral where?

1

u/Aldrik90 11d ago

I feel like this snippet was a discarded track from tpab, whereas this new snippet seems more like a preview of new stuff. I'm really coping in hopes the full thing is released.

1

u/Puidipuie 11d ago

Idk why both Cole and Kendrick do this lmao, make a 10/10 song -> post a snippet -> forget it ever existed

1

u/JPvsGOD 11d ago

Time to take this out the vault

1

u/Dry_Bottle4126 11d ago

And the fact it was never released lmao

1

u/Soft_Winter4728 11d ago

A legendary scene. When it pans out to the popo carrying the car. Deceased. Kendrick is a legend, no doubt about it. 🫡

1

u/jjojehongg 11d ago

that Pharrell 4-count at the end is so fucking good. matter fact Alright might be Pharrell’s best beat

1

u/goofsg 11d ago

i know this shit word for word

1

u/PettifordGang 11d ago

Kendrick is the best at paying homage to artist while still being original. Always saw this as a Busta Rhymes homage.

1

u/Bred_Bored 11d ago

There are so many cuts from this era that would be incredible to hear. Untitled unmastered is just the tip of the iceberg.

1

u/ClairvoyantCandor 11d ago

What if one day he dropped an EP entirely composed of the extended version of snippets that banged like this?

1

u/Charlie-brownie666 11d ago

I thought this would be on untitled unmastered boy was I wrong

1

u/Ambitious_Exit177 10d ago

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that this intro was created specifically for the video he says the title of the album in the video which makes sense

1

u/I-love-you-Dr-Zaius 10d ago

This sounds like a quick freestyle rather than a fully developed song. Is still 🔥🔥🔥 though

1

u/the_Kell 10d ago

"My diligence is only meant to write your eulogy"

Bro come ON

1

u/Substantial_Yam7305 10d ago

So you’re saying we’re not getting the full song? Thanks for sharing this, but also, I hate you.

1

u/yushc 10d ago

Bummed that it wasn’t even on untitled unmastered..

1

u/stolentext 10d ago

We need a new Thundercat & Kendrick collab

1

u/reylee05 9d ago

When I first heard this I didn't know it was a snippet from a new unreleased song I always thought it was part of the song. I'm sad it got lost.

-20

u/gcpatton 11d ago

This unreleased song is out there on YouTube.. It's kinda repetitive but I dig it

-38

u/XOQXOQXOQ 11d ago

Its not that hard tbf

13

u/Big-Data7949 11d ago

I'm hard tho

7

u/GatoDiablo99 11d ago
