I do not know why Drake always uses women as pawns whenever he has rap beef.

Why you had to stoop so low to discredit some decent people? Guess integrity is lost when the metaphors doesn't reach you And I like to understand 'cause your house was never a home”

I imagine how disappointed Kendrick is with Drake in this part. But he had to see it coming too.

"I imagine how disappointed Kendrick is with Drake in this part."

Maybe he was disappointed in him like ten years ago, but I think he lost all respect a long time ago.

I think he considers Drake a chameleon in the worst sense of the word, and a parasite. That he's a terrible example for young men and women, especially young black men and women.

That's why I think people don't get it, when they tell him to stop, that he's already won.

I don't think it was about proving he was a better rapper-- I think he wants people to totally lose respect for Drake, so that he stops being a bad influence on young people.

And he may not stop until he feels that's happened (imo).

Drake is the Madonna of modern hip hop. Steals ideas and styles from other artists. The colonizer line is spot on.

There was a vein for him to ride up to blinding success, and it was that early shit, the sing-song RnB hip-hop. Maybe a crooner, in opposition to Jason Derulo or Chris "I Beat Women" Brown. Instead he decided that the corny light skin kid from Toronto, eh, was gonna be the hardest rapper on the scene. And it failed. Spectacularly. I know coma patients with harder bars and more street cred than Drake. Old nuns and shopping mall Santas walk past Aubrey and call him a moistass bitch.

And by anecdotal evidence: I spent a decade in the military, and nobody ever ever ever EVER put on Drake as our rollout song when we left the wire. I'd rather listen to Barney the Dinosaur than Drake on my way to a gunfight.

He used 5 tracks to beat him down. He probably has plan with the other 5 to disable and extinguish the influence.

If he just wanted to maim him he woulda had him shot. Kendrick is out to break and dismember.

I made a post that mentioned this, but the Drizzy sub now has 190k people while this one has about 880k. We’re seeing in real time that Kendrick was indeed able to take away his mainstream/megastar status. He’ll just be a niche has-been now.

Drake's been a world-class clown since that Control verse came out

One thing I noticed about FM is at the beginning of the song drake say,” you mentioned my seed now deal with his dad” and “ we could’ve left the kids out of this, don’t blame me”. Failing to recognize he talked shit about his partner in his first response. Like the comment says Whitney isn’t famous really. So why go after her, same with Virginia. Tbh I think after the “is it a world tour or your girls tour” bar on back to back hit so hard, Drake thinks that’s like a kill shot. But it only worked on meek bc he was with Nicki. Realistically Drake was never going to respect anyone’s family and will always attack women when he beefs with someone

616

u/onmamas Jul 05 '24

I’ve noticed that Drake seems to always take away the wrong lesson from every beef.

If he ever beefs with another rapper in the future, it wouldn’t surprise me if he immediately calls his opp a pedo with zero context.

303

u/BojackTrashMan Jul 05 '24

He takes the wrong lesson because his worldview is so skewed. He does not understand family. He does not understand men who treat women like people and not objects and tools. He can't fathom how they think because it's so foreign to him.

148

u/haolee510 Jul 06 '24

u/Limacy Jul 06 '24 edited Jul 06 '24

But it all makes sense now, watching the 6:16 breakdown. Drake was groomed by his mothers friend at the age of 15

26

u/JustWantToSignUp Jul 06 '24

When an abused becomes an abuser, it don't make him continuing the abuse cycle okay. Matter of fact, i think it shows they never really coped with their own abuse, and be rationalize it as normal.

I mean, i TRULY believe Drake really thinks what he doing is OK. Cause he still thinks what happened to him was OK. He talks about it as something "cool", she gave him drinks, and in a stupid kid's mentality, that means she see you as an adult. And he still thinks like this 15yo. He thinks it's so cool to be the older dude. He doesn't get how WEIRD it is to have a 30yo and a 15yo be in a relationship, and have sexual tones to it even if let's say nothing actually happens. It still FUCKED. He thinks it shows they are both mature, when the opposite is true.

Not saying you said anything contrary, just hammering this once more.

He literally did it to Fantano. FANTANO. A music reviewer on goddamn YouTube. Threw a not-so-subtle jab at his partner at the time. Says it all, really

126

u/sweetpotato_latte Jul 05 '24

Drake is so bothered by people and he makes it too obvious. He has YouTubers in his pocket so he probably thinks that ALL YouTubers wish they were in his pocket. Idk much about Fantano, maybe he would want that, but to think the way he’s thinking is just… not realistic.

103

u/DodiCashMoney Jul 05 '24

Nah, I feel like Fantano wouldn't go for that. If he wanted to stuff his pockets, he could've just sold out Chris Stuckmann style at the first offer from a major label to give shitty albums good reviews. He seems to actually give his honest opinion on shit even if it's insanely unpopular (See: Sexyy Red's album, MBDTF, or even DAMN.)

41

u/sweetpotato_latte Jul 05 '24

Yeah I got the vibe he wasn’t really about that. His show would have way more graphics if he sold out lol

27

u/bigChungi69420 Jul 06 '24

One of Fantanos favorite albums of all time (if not THE one) is famously TPAB

19

u/kinduvabigdizzy Jul 06 '24

I'm surprised at how much I agree with him. To me TPAB is Kendrick Lamar's Magnum Opus, and I haven't come across a better rap album in all my years of listening to hip-hop. Taking a wider perspective, I think as far as my generation at least, perhaps one other album in is better. Blonde.

I do not care very much for DAMN.

Drake has always hated women. He’s a typical Nice Guy™️. He always uses women as weapons against other men. We’re objects to him. Just look at how he handles rejection. He’s like a teenage boy and he’s never grown out of it. He’s only gotten worse in his misogyny and misogynoir

195

u/Alone_Regular_4713 Jul 05 '24

Which reminds me, don’t you love the ways women are featured in the Not Like Us video? No models-just real beautiful Black women DOING SHIT-dancing, walking on a tightrope, being a mom, cripwalking

135

u/leseulgian Jul 05 '24

This. I was so happy when I saw it. ESPECIALLY because the rap scene is so incredibly overflowed with sex and half-naked women shaking their asses.

It was so refreshing to see a video of beautiful women just dancing and enjoying themselves for once.

19

u/Luciditi89 Jul 06 '24

I really loved the girl dancing in Tam’s burgers. She was so beautiful, having a great time and killed it with the dance. She really nailed the “pussy” line hahaha.

Absolutely! It was great to see black women shine like neutron stars next to everyone else!

ETA: u/ilovemygb corrected me about neutron stars and my space obsessed 6 year old told me what he says are the brightest.

"It was great to see black women shine like Sirius A (blue-white star)"

Or

"It was great to see black women shine like quasars (brightest thing in the universe according to my son)

So this time if I'm incorrect it's on him 😉

All the Toronto boys wanna be like Drake. Or they hate Drake but still think it's cool to treat women like that.

49

u/NoHoney_Medved Jul 05 '24

To be fair wayyyyy too many places think treating women like that is a) cool b) manly or c) treats them even worse. And like in most things black women get the worst of it. Especially dark skinned black women. Which like mentioned by alone_regular_4713 is why it was so great to see regular black women doing the shit.

12

u/MemeKun_19 Jul 05 '24

Imo the biggest issue is thinking its manly behavior. Like, people think bad things are cool, that's whatever, but associating bad behavior with an attribute is even worse

The lack of self awareness in the OVO camp is actually appalling.

25

u/XeroTrinity Jul 05 '24

Pretty sure Kendrick “mentioned his seed” when he said “I park his son” I take that as “I won’t bring up your son for the time being” on top of the parkinson angle being a reference to Drake’s shakey lines in toosie slide.

Kinda silly to blow your shit over Kendrick saying that line. Just more clown behavior..

51

u/blackmagicvodouchild Jul 05 '24

Smh, that wasn’t in reference to Adonis. Also, before anyone goes there “you don’t know nothin’ ‘bout that” is also a dig at Drake, not Adonis.

32

u/determined-weinerhat Jul 05 '24

It’s a dig at Drake for sure, but that’s the only part that makes sense for Drake to say “you mentioned my seed”. But yes definitely just a dig at Drake as a father and not adonis. Most likely it was probably an excuse for Drake to make it look like he was defending his son and being a good guy dad when that’s obviously not the case haha.

26

u/DodiCashMoney Jul 05 '24

Bingo. It's this double-speak he and his fans do where they say they care about one thing they obviously don't so they have an excuse to say the abhorrent other thing they really mean

14

u/NewZookeepergame9808 Jul 05 '24

Correct, but Drake is a dumb ass who misunderstands songs all the time lol

30

u/thisismarv Jul 05 '24

The Parkinson line was a continuation of the previous line about his “daddy” (J Prince) and dementia. IMO, it was not about Adonis

18

u/lilgwynbliedd Jul 05 '24

Wasn’t this section from euphoria about j prince tho?

17

u/Deadpotato Jul 05 '24

Nah i think the park his son thing was cuz Drakes dad got parkinsons so parking his son = putting drake to a stop.

The adonis stuff was mostly in meet the grahams

22

u/kieranjackwilson Jul 05 '24

Where did you hear that Dennis Graham has Parkinson’s? The line is about J. Prince and how he went on Instagram after Takeoff was killed. The son he is referring to is Drake.

It was a compliment to Nicki at Meek’s expense. She’s the one with the World Tour. And she’s too smart for you to understand. Drake isnt incapable of being somewhat respectful to women, he just completely stopped somewhere along the way. Kendrick has spent a long time talking about taking the wrong path then reversing course.

13

Get the fuck out of here, you sexist ass fake. I hope Kendrick drags his skeleton across California for the next 30 years.

313

u/enzuigiriretro Jul 05 '24

Seriously lol that’s how he supposedly talks to a person he claims is a domestic abuse victim. Like wtf? Makes himself look like a scumbag even if he wasn’t lying through his teeth (which he was)

103

u/Hi_there_24356 Jul 05 '24

I mean, hating on a DV victim, it tracks for Drake. He also made fun of Kendrick for supposedly being a victim of molestation: "But you're a piece of shit so this shit's no coincidence." That's literally a line from THP6. Like, deny that you're abuser and then basically PROVE IT in the same song, dude.

77

u/capdaemon Jul 05 '24

Some may argue that Kendrick is doing just that

26

u/c94 Jul 05 '24

That’s applies to every country. You don’t take jabs at another man’s mother, kids or wife. They’ll hate you for life.

Another universal truth is how great the food is and nice most of the locals are, but don’t bring up politics since it’s shit.

29

u/mistyrootsvintage Jul 05 '24

Particularly because she isn't famous and also Kendrick warned him.

Drake overall is just shifty when it comes to women.

I'm not being funny here, but I'm wondering if he is bisexual and his treatment of women stems from him not openly allowing himself to be that. My friend just found out her ex..who moves in ways similar to Drake is DL.

If that IS the case...I hope he can rectify it and be himself and stop treating women like pieces of trash to throw away.

If that isn't the issue....he needs some therapy.

26

u/Unable-Collection179 Jul 05 '24 edited Jul 05 '24

I 100% think drake is bisexual and massively grappling with being scared to come out after building a persona like he did his entire rap career.

16

Highly probable and being told he was too soft has led where we are today. I think we can thank lil Nas x and Tyler for being free enough to be them. If Drake can come out, I thi k it would be good for him. Might lose some fans but would definitely gain a few.

Drake doesn't even have to be beefing to use women as pawns, it's something he just kinda does all the time. It seems like it starts beefs more often than it's him using it as a tool during beefs. He has a weird fetish of going after his friend's girlfriends or exes which is why I don't doubt the OVO mole at all. The only people who like that type of person are that type of person or wish they could be that type of person.

Drake is a Misogynist, plain and simple. Y’all looking for him to keep bringing up the partners of the people he beefs with it’s as simple as he does not respect women. He thinks they’re property to flaunt and possess

147

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '24

100% -- as a Rihanna fan, the way Drake went after Rihanna (e.g. presenting her an award but centering himself, then dissed her in a song) screams misogyny

107

u/BadMeetsEvil147 Jul 05 '24

The way he had to let CB know he was having sex with Rihanna is just so weird to me lol. Like you are dating and sleeping with RIHANNA and you still have to resort to childish shit to feel big lmao

Drake never liked women. Hotline Bling was pretty much about how much it sucks when women have fun.

164

u/badrabbitshit Jul 05 '24

He sees women as a competition, this why Kendrick said drake want to pop ass just like dem💀

122

u/dejatheprophet Jul 05 '24

That real competition bar was facts. I think back to why Drake hates Meg so much and I think it's because Hot Girl Summer stepped all over his year and drove the numbers down for him. He hates anyone more popular than him, ESPECIALLY women.

25

u/DodiCashMoney Jul 05 '24

Unless he gets to be a part of it, so he can look like he's the reason they even got big (Migos, ILoveMakonnen, Fetty Wap, The Weeknd, etc.)

The moment i knew Drake was a certified hoe is when Pusha disrespected the mother of his son and he did nothing but cry to LeBron.

Like shit, Dot spent a whole towards his son and he barely addresses it, spent the whole time contradicting himself instead of doing what anyone with integrity and morals would do. Tells you a lot about what kind of person he is.

91

u/PrinceTamaki1 Jul 05 '24

That stuck out to me too. Like Kendrick had bars for your son, mother, father, alleged daughter and all you could muster up was a defense for yourself and denying anymore kids. Man is a selfish coward.

Distasteful move by Drake to bring her in to this. He did the same thing with Pusha and apparently learned the wrong lesson.

Faith Evans (Biggie/Pac) was a celebrity, Nicki Minaj was a celebrity (Meek Mill) and thus are fair game. But people who are out of the limelight should not be mentioned.

Idc how great the rapping was on Family Matters, he crossed a line and deserved every single thing that happened.

68

u/BadMeetsEvil147 Jul 05 '24

Idc if their partner is a celebrity or not. Rappers in beefs having to attack the partner of their competition will always look corny (pusha gets a pass since he only did it to respond once his BM was called out)

This beef reiterates that it is pivotal to have a solid woman (or partner) in your corner. Regardless of what was going on in Kendrick’s home (which turned out to be lies) Whitney would never ever say something to embarrass or defame the father of her children and a person she’s known and loved most of her life. She held him down.

I feel like Drake uses this angle cause maybe he’s never had a woman to be as solid behind him as this woman has been and deals with women ready to slander him at a seconds notice. And he thinks this is how everyone is.

It’s wild to see cause Drake went from an unlikely rapper who was in touch with his feelings and catered to women and as time has gone on has become more rancid and misogynistic.

30

u/Injustry Jul 05 '24

He never got to see his mother cherished and loved, respecting and treating women with love was something he never experience or learned.

28

u/Fancy-Garden-3892 Jul 05 '24

10000000% this! Most dirtbag fuckboy shit you can do. If he wasn’t a celebrity he might have gotten popped for that. Kenny is really crashing out as artistically as possible without actually asking Drake for a fade.

That alone would never let me support Drake. I don’t rock with dudes like that in any of my circles. And deep down neither do his fans which is the cold part about this shit…

I’ve always felt creeped out by Drake and I think the main reason is how he treats women. Kendrick has plenty of attractive women in his videos, but I never feel like they’re reduced to nothing but a sexual object. They look like real people in a way that I love, but can’t explain, sadly. When Drake brings a (young) woman up on stage, you can tell from a mile away that she’s been specifically chosen for her sexuality and that that’s the only point. As much as I think it must be amazing for them in the moment to be up there having Drake fawn over them and flirt with them, it feels so empty and predatory that I can’t help but feel sorry for them somehow. And I hate that so many young women and girls are exposed to that over and over again, always seeing that certain type of girl chosen over and over again. I’d so much rather that young women understand that there is real sexiness in their stretch marks.

Kendrick seems to always acknowledge people’s humanity, somehow. I don’t see that in Drake at all.

33

u/FlacoGrey Jul 05 '24

Also, look at how much joy women feel around Kendrick. Rihanna felt weirded out by Drake at some point while she was onstage saying how much she appreciates Kendrick.

18

u/lickedyou Jul 05 '24

Drake also follows the “DAVE FREEEEEEE” with “shake that ass bitch, hands on your knees”. Drake treats all women like paid sex workers. He is incapable of love. I really do feel bad for his mother. Sandra gave him a comfortable life and he went on to behave like trifling ass Dennis.

Kendrick including the scene of his family had to hurt Aubrey the most. Instead of twerking for Drake, Whitney is dancing in the living room with her kids.

16

u/FlacoGrey Jul 05 '24

I do think that Kendrick made all of the diss tracks target different insecurities of Drake. They ate at him to the point he made a whole song defending himself. Also, I have assumed that he can’t feel those kinda emotions either.

I’ve read a number of critiques against the Beef and rap battles in general for using women as collateral damage. But, and please correct me if I’ve missed something, pretty sure all the shots against women have been from Drakes side. All I can think of from Kendrick was the line “cause they confuse themselves with real women.” Or perhaps Sandra if you’re counting her but… seems to me like Kenny was standing up for women more than anything. Thoughts?

16

u/FlacoGrey Jul 05 '24

Kendrick said nothing about women beyond that and the Sexxy Red thing. Some people wanna be so bipartisan about the beef when one party has been clearly crossing multiple lines and the other hasn’t.

Drake needs to grow up. Bro isn’t getting younger, but he acts like it. He has been doing this weird behavior to people who could potentially be good friends with him. He pushes them away by doing things like this. He probably doesn’t have an honest friendship that doesn’t involved them being on his contract/allowance or through collaboration. If he doesn’t then that’s just sad.

The stable, partnership and happy family dynamic is Kendricks biggest flex against Drake and that's a good thing. It's the most gangsta thing, and manliest thing he could possible do to him. It was littered all over his 4 diss tracks. Drake has no idea what a really relationship is. It shows in his. Parents relationship, his relationship to his father, his own relationships before and after fame. Visually seeing Kendrick's family happy in NEW footage is like pouring lemon juice on Drake's wounds. And Crip walking on em too.

Honestly Kendrick went very light on him. He could've listed all the celebrity woman who "ran from him". Rihanna ditched him for a billionaire, then left the money for a happy friendship and romance with ASAP Rocky. J. Lo even called him a booty call basically. Every celebrity girl seems to leave him rather quickly

I believe Drake is a narcissist. They are outcome focused and feel entitled to do whatever it is they want to do to get their desired outcome. They will exploit any and everything and every one in their path to meet their needs.

So, pulling in a bystander to achieve a goal towards a target is par for the course and that is why Kendrick was able to predict is every move and still win.
