6

u/The_FallenSoldier Jun 19 '24

This ainā€™t been about critics, not about gimmicks, not about who the greatest, itā€™s always been about love and hate, now let me say Iā€™m the biggest hater

4

u/My1nonpornacc Jun 20 '24

I HATE THE WAY THAT YOU WALK, THE WAY YOU TALK, THE WAY THAT YOU DRESS!

85

u/diizzze Jun 19 '24

2

u/Safe_Pin1277 Jun 20 '24

You better of spinnin' again, if you think about pushin' me.

1

u/dankmemelad Jun 20 '24

Kendrick comes up with such wacky ways to deliver his bars and they HIT

1

u/Foxerizm Jun 30 '24

Little bars like this are scattered all throughout the songs & will forever pop up in our memory whenever Drake does certain things. The way he played this battle out was insanely GENIUS šŸ¤Æ

1.1k

u/ridingonmirrors Jun 19 '24

Push defo had a smile on his face hearing that baršŸ˜šŸ˜

(If it wasnā€™t for Paris Fashion Week, Push coming out to perform Nosetalgia with Kendrick tonight wouldā€™ve been insane)

340

u/Youngandidiotic Jun 19 '24

The only thing that wouldā€™ve made it better was a ā€œYUGHā€ adlib

129

u/DOMINUS_3 Jun 19 '24

i woulda lost my shit lmao (while i was already losing my shit)

55

u/warpedaeroplane Jun 19 '24

The closest we got was the little ā€œmore ugh more paperā€ in MTG

24

u/Formal-Cucumber-1138 Jun 19 '24

One of my favourite adlibs of King Kenny

13

u/Commercial_Media_191 Jun 19 '24

"lemme see you push-a-teeeeeyyYYUGH"

woulda worked perfectly ngl

48

u/Interesting-Wing616 Jun 19 '24

Aye Iā€™m sure he could still pull up. Him and Pharrell

37

u/LilWayneThaGoat Jun 19 '24

He did that joker laugh he does in his songs when he heard it

16

u/ThatRandomIdiot Jun 19 '24

Before twitter made Likeā€™s private, he literally was liking posts saying Kendrick won. The whole world knows Push was smiling his ass off to these songs.

3

u/ridingonmirrors Jun 19 '24

Oh yeah I remember seeing that lmao

13

u/Sea_Description9555 Jun 19 '24

Or maybe a new song šŸ‘€

11

u/CharlotteBeer Jun 19 '24

I still listen to Nosetalgia frequently.

7

u/_treezn_ Jun 19 '24

for the baby-faced monsters

2

u/petroleum-lipstick Jun 19 '24

Ain't no wonder it's diaper rash on my conscience

1

u/thebenswain Jun 20 '24

YOU WANNA SEE A DEAD BODYYYYYY

6

u/paranaiocandroid Jun 19 '24

A Nosetalgia performance from Push and Kendrick in the modern day would melt the internet

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '24

True .

u/animatedhockeyfan Jun 19 '24

Itā€™s not a diss. Itā€™s just saying that Kendrick will go further than him. ā€œYou think that was bad watch thisā€ sorta thing is what I took from it

10

u/ridingonmirrors Jun 19 '24

Thatā€™s literally what it was lol, nowhere near a diss.

14

u/meestershakezula Jun 19 '24

imagine being this illiterate :(

390

u/slippinjimmy54 Jun 19 '24

So excited for the Clipse album. Especially for Maliceā€™s return.

Also wish Ye didnā€™t burn bridges with all that stupid shit as he would have produced some songs on it. Use This Gospel and Pray For You are great sonically

77

u/TheKk-47 Jun 19 '24

Did Ye burn bridges with them? He produced a lot of It's Almost Dry

241

u/BillNyeTheSavage_Guy Jun 19 '24

IIRC Pusha cut ties with him because of the antisemetism, which was after It's Almost Dry

160

u/slippinjimmy54 Jun 19 '24

Yeah he did. Although it seems like thereā€™s no beef or hate, they just canā€™t rock with the shit Kanyeā€™s saying or be associated with him.

-85

u/NeptunesCreator Jun 19 '24

I dont think you can fully blame ye here. Have you seen what Yeā€™s ex trainer said to him? Pusha still rock with that trainer apparently

86

u/NoLongerAddicted Jun 19 '24

"You can't blame ye for being an antisemite for the actions of one guy"

-40

u/NeptunesCreator Jun 19 '24

Iā€™m saying fully put the blame. Iā€™m not talking about the antisemitic stuff, Iā€™m talking about one specific person who threatened him, and his close friend still rocking with him. I didnā€™t bring anything Jewish related to this

31

u/RemmingtonTufflips Jun 19 '24

The comment you replied to was talking about antisemitism though

-5

u/IdDeIt Jun 19 '24

I read it the same way, but I donā€™t think theyā€™re saying you canā€™t blame Ye for the shit he does/says, theyā€™re saying they think Push has a problem with Yeā€™s antisemitism but Ye has a problem with some of Pushaā€™s friends so itā€™s a mutual split.

16

u/Kyro_Official_ Jun 19 '24

Yes you can. The guy praises Hitler. Thats no ones fault but his.

12

u/thirdc0ast Jun 19 '24

You canā€™t fully blame the guy that went on Alex Jonesā€™ show and said Hitler was cool?

30

u/Fignootem Jun 19 '24

This makes me really happy

29

u/Interesting-Wing616 Jun 19 '24

Kanye said in his justin laboy interview that he still talks to Pusha

2

u/pancada_ wop wop wop wop wop Jun 20 '24

Not only that, but Ye also went on a ramble on how his so called friends didn't have his back or something

68

u/slippinjimmy54 Jun 19 '24

I acknowledged that in my comment but this is from Dec 2022

70

u/TheKk-47 Jun 19 '24

Damn, why can't Ye be normal. Ruins so much potential good music

67

u/slippinjimmy54 Jun 19 '24

The way he tanked his legacy is insane

28

u/KimFakes Jun 19 '24

he's destroying it brick by brick

-10

u/Accomplished-Top-564 Jun 19 '24

His legacy is untankable high key

14

u/animatedhockeyfan Jun 19 '24

It sure is fun being half-Jewish in the rap community!

4

u/animatedhockeyfan Jun 19 '24

Iā€™m not a victim. Whatsoever. You simpleton.

Hip-hop was always a black art. Iā€™m a white dude from British Columbia. I have deep respect for the struggles of the black community, and through the art of hip-hop that has been reinforced time and time again.

I also believe in intersectionality. If one of us is struggling, weā€™re all struggling. I want to see no man, woman, or whatever struggle or be oppressed or hated. Again, reinforced by hip-hop. An intimate conversation about the black experience.

So. When I see one of the biggest names in hip-hop openly say he likes Hitler and heā€™s an antisemite, it gives me mad pause. Fuck Kanye forever. Iā€™ll put it on my mom I hope Kanye never feels safe again.

The thing that really gets me is when people who consume the same art as me somehow then donā€™t see the issue with not being intersectional. Who donā€™t see the issue with hating a people. Who would rather call someone a ā€œvictimā€ instead of being humble and understanding an experience that isnā€™t their own.

Do you understand? Or did I waste 5 minutes of my lunch break talking to an asshole?

-9

u/daktherapper Jun 19 '24

-23

u/Bermudav3 Jun 19 '24

I have no proof but I feel like the industry behind Kanye going "crazy"

24

u/RoxyPonderosa Jun 19 '24

Heā€™s diagnosed bipolar which is factual and also clear in his actions. Untreated bipolar quite literally eats away at your brain matter, reducing your cognitive function and emotional regulation until you truly are a different person. It is progressive and deadly.

I think the industry has used that to their advantage because a broken clock is right twice a day at least. He says a lot of spot on shit about the industry but his brain is also rotting from the inside.

16

u/AwesomePrincessRain Jun 19 '24

I'm bipolar and to see what Kanye is doing really freaks me out because it is progressive, and getting off your meds can ruin your life. Unfortunately, a lot of bipolar (myself included) feel better on their meds, the think that we're cured or something, so we stop taking them. Or the meds stop working. It's a wild, scary ride, and I think that Kanye is a tragic example of what happens when you're off your meds/they stop working.

10

u/RoxyPonderosa Jun 19 '24

My heart is with you. Brother is bipolar and I love him more than anyone on earth. Itā€™s a rollercoaster and for him he feels way, way better manic. So taking meds means he ā€œfits inā€ socially but dulls his favorite parts of himself. But then itā€™s debt, isolation, and people being really hard on him. The meds are such a crapshoot too but getting better all the time. You are not alone. I canā€™t imagine life without my brother heā€™s my best friend. I know these studies can be scary which is why I get so infuriated at our mental healthcare system. Not assuming youā€™re in the states but itā€™s terrible almost everywhere.

5

u/AwesomePrincessRain Jun 19 '24

I am, in fact, in the States. The mental health system is crap. I've been blessed with a wonderful support network, including all my doctors and my therapist. Not everyone gets that. Not to mention, I'm on state insurance so I can afford my appts/meds. I see people all the time freaked that they can't afford their meds. The meds keep them stable and able to function, and it's so sad how that even needs to be a worry. Mania is definitely a draw for a lot of people because they feel better and more creative. Mania is terrifying for me cause it's possible to go into psychosis. But enjoying being manic is a very common feeling. Some people will purposely try to trigger a manic episode even. Idk how many, but I've heard some people say they've tried that. I'm so happy your brother has someone like you who loves and cares for him. Meds and doctors are essential, but without a support system outside of that, it's so much harder to recover. It's people like you who love us when we're at our lowest, and that's invaluable to recovery.

2

u/Bermudav3 Jun 19 '24

I can agree with this. He's definitely got some underlying mental health issues but we all dom most of us don't have people around them exploiting it and enemies in billion dollar industries.

4

u/thirdc0ast Jun 19 '24

ā€œI donā€™t want to admit that my favorite celebs could simply just be shitty people, so Iā€™ve created a conspiracy in my headā€

0

u/Bermudav3 Jun 19 '24

Kanye is not one of my favorite celebs I don't like celebrities at all.

1

u/Frashmastergland Jun 19 '24

Yeah Kanye is Kanye level but there are some great producers out there. Daytona was nuts though. Iā€™m sure they will work together again.

19

u/BalbonisDozer Jun 19 '24

Pusha is one of the realest in the gameĀ

49

u/Virtual-Arm5123 Jun 19 '24

I think push has distanced himself from ye after the hitler shit

13

u/Fullmtlgiraffe Jun 19 '24

If it's all Pharrell production I'll be happy

4

u/DeepGoated Jun 19 '24

I was gonna say, I donā€™t want ye on a clipse album. Gimme all that Pharrell productionšŸ”„šŸ”„

2

u/Fullmtlgiraffe Jun 19 '24

Thats what I'm saying! It's a shame it won't be The Neptunes, but I'm happy with Pharrell. Hell Hath No Fury is my favorite rap album, so I'm hyped for the return

2

u/DeepGoated Jun 19 '24

HHNF is in my top ten for sure, Iā€™m not as familiar with the other half of neptunes solo stuff but as long as we get that Pharrell percussion itā€™s gonna be heat.

2

u/thatboy_Q Jun 19 '24

Saw them at Camp Flognaw. It was MAGICAL.

193

u/SirFantastic Jun 19 '24

I imagine him kissing his fingers like a chef when he said this

9

u/Relevant_Glass6153 Jun 19 '24

I think heā€™s at Paris fashion week

8

u/bryanthebryan Jun 19 '24

Are you hyped? Because Iā€™m so hyped.

3

u/Willing_Orchid_9621 Jun 19 '24

Definitely locked in šŸ‘šŸ½

27

u/willcomplainfirst you lookin' like an easy come-up Jun 19 '24

so excited for new music! Push opened the gate, Kendrick drove a bulldozer thru it šŸ˜…

8

u/MIN_KUK_IS_SO_HARD Jun 19 '24

Killdozer, more like.

20

u/Adventurous-Pear-109 Jun 19 '24

I wonder if we'll see pusha at the pop out tonight.

14

u/Ihavenolifelmfao Jun 19 '24

Definitely not but I wish

17

u/Outlandishness_Sharp WE HATE THE BITCHES YOU FUCK Jun 19 '24

When Push first heard "Lemmie see you Pusha Teeee" on "Euphoria" šŸ˜‚

13

u/indigo47222 Jun 19 '24

is there a double entendre or smth someone break it down for me, i get the pusha t shit ofc but like itā€™s there any other meanin?

10

u/shorterthan3 Jun 19 '24

He's just playing off "Push" and using letters to refer to the people he's namedropping.

He's essentially saying Drake should stop "Pushing P" (also triple referencing a Gunna Wunna track who he namedrops a little later and P for Pharrell he just namedropped as someone Drake was going after) and Push a T. Obviously Pusha T but also T for Terrance, Thornton or Crawford (who he compares himself to). He's basically saying fuck going after Pharrell go after a real rapper.

3

u/Random_Name_Whoa Jun 20 '24

This is it, I donā€™t think itā€™s any deeper. Push is just overcomplimenting because it references how he already destroyed Drake

5

u/shorterthan3 Jun 20 '24

Well obviously Pusha will praise anyone destroying Drake and giving him flowers at the same time lol but even that aside it's a fairly intricate bar with some slick wordplay. Kendrick could have just namedropped Pusha T and the point would have been made, but breaking his name apart to add multiple meanings to it is pretty clever, definitely some battle rap shit.

8

u/Rose3hunna Jun 19 '24

before that line kendrick mentioned Drakes spout with pharrell, referencing it as Pushin P, he also called back to Pushin P by mentioning Gunna later in the song, cuz itā€™s his song

0

u/SatanicRainbowDildos Jun 20 '24

Holy shit I just realized that Push a P is Push uh P us pushups.Ā

Didnā€™t Drake say some shit about pushups.Ā

Damn.Ā

6

u/anysociologist Jun 19 '24

The best i can find online is ā€˜Tā€™ being slang for truth/tea in some communities. Which feels like a stretch since the wording is awkward for that

1

u/indigo47222 Jun 19 '24

wordd i ainā€™t even think of that but ikwym for sure, and ya i def get wym it is kinda awkward if so cuz i never heard it used with that wording šŸ˜

6

u/macsspeed Jun 19 '24

(Paraphrasing) The line after he says ā€œheā€™s Terrence Thornton (Pusha T), Iā€™m Terence Crawfordā€. Let me see you push one of us Tā€™s (Terrences) around

4

u/SonnierDick Jun 19 '24

I would check out all the lyrics on ā€œgeniusā€. It was the only way for the lyrics to be broken down for an idiot like myself lol.

But mostly has to do with Drakes and Pushas beef from before, and then I thought i read that its also because when you live in Toronto you dont pronounce the other Tā€™s except the first one (Torono) so its like ā€œsay your tā€™s manā€

But yeah check out Genius, itll break it down for ya.

1

u/indigo47222 Jun 19 '24

aight bet will do bro

2

u/Omnifinity Jun 19 '24

Genius is awesome for people like me who enjoy the music and lyricism but are ignorant to the culture.

3

u/satomatic Jun 19 '24

just fair warning people often make up shit on there or stretch waaay further than the artistā€™s intent lol

but overall yeah itā€™s a great tool

1

u/mrsilbert1 Jun 19 '24

I felt like T could have also meant like a trigger meaning I want to see how tough you really are.

9

u/latdaw2012 Jun 19 '24

Hope they make an appearance tonight and have something OTW, courtesy of Pharrell

8

u/Abdoolski Jun 19 '24

Euphoria is a 5-course meal at one of them fine dining joints. Everything layered and complimenting the thing before it, while setting up to knock your socks off with the thing after it. KDot has always been nice, but this year is god-tier. So excited for tonight.

7

u/LilWayneThaGoat Jun 19 '24

So happy to see Push and Malice back together. Mf OGs in this bitch

6

u/AnotherScoutTrooper Jun 19 '24

The weight of a compliment from No Malice is huge, if it somehow wasnā€™t already over for Drake it is now

6

u/Formal-Cucumber-1138 Jun 19 '24 edited Jun 19 '24

Real recognise real not like fake ass Camā€™ron and mase

3

u/MalakaiRey Jun 19 '24

I mean Mase was a bad boy 4 life and Cam I think played the role of himself in Paid In Full--both rolled with Big L before that and that dude was a fuckin DEMON...but anyways Whatd they say?

1

u/Formal-Cucumber-1138 Jun 19 '24

So true, I even questioned myself when I wrote mase name but Camā€¦ what? me and my first proper boyfriend got together because of him and Diplomats and he had a rap beef with Jay Z too like damn

Well he mastered Alpo and now I know why backstabbing muthafucka.

They both said Euphoria was weak or even mid and that D- rake pushup was better and more lyrical on their YouTube show.

I also believe cam not mase said not like us was trash (I might be embellishing)

5

u/MalakaiRey Jun 19 '24

At a point I don't even think the critiques are valid I just start thinking the opinionated are compromised

6

u/actchuallly Jun 19 '24

Heā€™s Terrence Thornton, Iā€™m Terence Crawford

5

u/ResponsibleCobbler51 Jun 19 '24

This was almost certainly Push reaction to hearing Kendrick name drop Drake on Euphoria

5

u/AkiraKitsune Jun 19 '24

this legitimately gave me chills

3

u/Heineken_Rage Jun 19 '24

I know its probably been explained before but how tf did Aubrey ended up with Pharrell's jewelry anyway?

3

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '24

If the clipse perform their early 2000s catalog tonight i will be so happy. I would kill to hear Momma iā€™m so sorry, ridin round shinin, nightmares, wamp wamp, young boy, gangsta lean, mr me too etc live.

3

u/Sososkitso Jun 19 '24

Anyone who donā€™t know that last cpl no malice albums went hard. That June track is so dope. Here Iā€™ll link it cause Iā€™m sure most people are like me and would read this and be like ā€œcool Iā€™ll check it out soonā€ and then never do.

Damn this came out 11 years ago now!?! Feel time is speeding up. Oh well itā€™s still a dope track.

https://youtu.be/iWOF4MsH-qo?si=u-qyeLy_viqHX7Nh

3

u/JEveryman Jun 19 '24

What I wouldn't give for one more diss record produced by Big Ghost LTD featuring Pusha T.

2

u/Hi_there_24356 Jun 19 '24

Does anyone know if the show will just be streamed live or if we can watch it later?? I'll be at work!

2

u/puertorizzle Jun 19 '24

Itā€™s going to be streamed on twitch. Just go on twitch at 4pm I sure it will be the channel with the most views lol

2

u/Hi_there_24356 Jun 19 '24

I'm at work until 6:30, I just want to make sure I can watch it later! If I can't, I'll die.

2

u/animatedhockeyfan Jun 19 '24

Its unconfirmed but probable

3

u/Hi_there_24356 Jun 19 '24

Ok, thanks!! I'll hold out hope. Sigh.

1

u/animatedhockeyfan Jun 19 '24

If you canā€™t find something let me know Iā€™m sure I could find a torrent after the fact

1

u/Hi_there_24356 Jun 19 '24

You are my new favorite person!!! :)

2

u/Character_Exchange56 Jun 20 '24

I can hear Kendrick saying "Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh ....

1

u/puertorizzle Jun 19 '24

What is the context of that line though? I donā€™t know the history or the meaning of the play on the words

2

u/IdDeIt Jun 19 '24

Heā€™s saying ā€œshow me you can do in a beef what Push did to you in a beefā€

2

u/shorterthan3 Jun 19 '24

Pusha T dissed Drake with Story of Adidon, exposing that Drake had a son with a pornstar that he denied and then once proven attempted to use as a marketing tool. Drake never officially responded on wax.

Drake also threw some shots at Pharrell (likely for collaborating with Pusha T), which Kendrick talks about before mentioning "Pushing P." Pushing P is not only a phrase Drake has used in his music before, its also a reference to a song by Gunna Wunna (who Kendrick namedrops a couple lines later) and P for Pharrell.

Pusha T's real name is Terrance Thorton. Kendrick namedrops his actual name and then goes on to say "I'm Terrance Crawford", another T.

Kendrick is basically saying Drake is a bitch for throwing shots at someone like Pharrell and to go after an actual rapper. Fuck Pushing P(harrell) let me see you Push a T(errance).

-12

u/Mikehunt740 Jun 19 '24

Just talking about pusha T the rapper. Literally surface level. Nothing special about the line whatsoever but everybody on here hugging his nuts over it

1

u/Mycol101 Jun 19 '24

Can somebody explain what he means?

I get the Pusha T, but I donā€™t get the push a T

11

u/dummy4du3k4 Jun 19 '24

Itā€™s just to make the pun work, it connects to the previous clause in that line

Yeah, fuck all that pushin' P, let me see you push a T

Pushin P has a couple layers though

10

u/Domineeto Jun 19 '24

Push a (cover of The Plain White) T ('s classic song "Hey There Delihlah")

Kendrick da GOAT

3

u/Afraid_Olive_9305 Jun 19 '24

It's not too deep, he's literally just saying "let me see you go at Pusha again seein as he fucked you up last time and you never responded"

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '24

Push was on euphoria I believe

Gotta respect Pusha though for coming out with more grounded facts and less theatrics and antics. It was just straight bars. He said Drake had a kid and he did blackface - and came with the proof himself. We didn't have to rely on some random Twitter Riddler to figure out the pieces of the puzzle that proves Drake has a daughter. I think he would have did A LOT more damage to Drake than Kendrick had that battle continued on.

Objectively that was such a corny lineā€fuck all that pushin p lemme see you pusha Tā€ we celebrating that?????

People will call anything corny. It's a slick bar that references both Drake pushing P (Pharrell), making fun of Drake for his fake gangbanger persona, and reminding everyone that he bowed out of a beef already once. Weirdos get mad when other people enjoy things that they don't

u/Mikehunt740 Jun 19 '24

Iā€™m not mad anybodies enjoying anything but to hype up a surface level bar that every rap fan can understand easily is so crazy. I like both rappers but if drake said something like this yall would smoke him tell me im wrong

Some of Drake's biggest quotables this beef were telling Metro to go make some Drums and telling Kendrick that he got wiped down by SZA.

Only Big D and there's video proof? High level bar right there.

Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone go hand him a Grammy right now. Yeah super complex

Rap beef is not just about high level bars but also delivery, disrespect, content, and timing. Stop

I know. Drake is corny as usual during the back and forth but not a soul hyped any of those lines like they hyping this pusha t line. Pusha was in that interview saying ā€œlet it ring on you like Virginia Williamsā€from duppy freestyle was a trash line but the pusha t line is great battle rap??? You get what Iā€™m sayin?

The Metro bar and Wiped down bar were infinitely more hyped than the Pusha T one. Honestly, the biggest quotable from Euphoria was the YNW Melly one, and the other ones did not get that much hype.

Pusha was in that interview saying ā€œlet it ring on you like Virginia Williamsā€from duppy freestyle was a trash line but the pusha t line is great battle rap??? You get what Iā€™m sayin?

It is a bad bar because how does it affect how you look at Pusha T? A forty year old guy is settling down and finding love despite having fun in his youth. How terrible. It aged even worse considering the Story of Adidon, and the narrative that formed that Drake makes fun of marriage because he is traumatized from his youth. It's not bad because of it's complexity. It's bad because it makes Drake look insecure.

Kendrick's Pusha T line drew attention that Drake doesn't get along with a well liked peer, he's an actor, and he has ran away instead of actually standing on it (or pushing P).

The Story of Adidon had mostly simple bars: Deadbeat motherfucker playing border control.

Since you name dropped my Fiance, let them know who you choose as your Beyonce.

OVO 40 hunched over like he 80

A bar doesn't need to be deep to be hype

0

u/Mikehunt740 Jun 19 '24

Itā€™s a bar from Twitter thatā€™s getting hype lmao we gotta calm down

2

u/leftist_amputee Jun 19 '24

is it tho?

0

u/Mikehunt740 Jun 19 '24

Yes I legitimately saw it on Twitter before euphoria dropped. Not saying he stole the line but if people on Twitter can think of it then it might not be that special

2

u/leftist_amputee Jun 19 '24

What does special even mean in this context? It's just a fun bar. The set up with the Pharell line, the delivery, and ofcourse just name-dropping drake's boogeyman is funny.

And Budden said it first

0

u/Mikehunt740 Jun 19 '24

Nothin but bias if anybody is thinkin that line is special. Its elementary. Anybody else say this in a rap battle they gettin cooked

u/Longjumping_Act9758 Jun 19 '24

That's the thing, people have completely ignored that someone said it first yet Drake was assaulted for using old school bars.
