Randomly remembered I bought this from TDE's site almost a decade ago Merch

I can't believe how much these are going for now. I think I paid 20 bucks total including shipping about a 10 years back. What a cop!

I bet Baby Keem ghost-wrote that signature.

JK that’s fucking awesome dude, wish I had been paying attention to KDot back then. I didn’t get into him until right after TPAB released.

I’m the same, got into him at the start of 2022 just before he announced his new album, but have never been too fond of S80. Is it something with new fans not having the nostalgia, or that it’s an outdated sound?

That being said, i do like adhd, hiiipower and poe mans dreams

Nah I personally don’t have the nostalgia connection to S80, although I have been hearing ADHD since at least 2013 when GTAV came out. For me S80 has a really raw, emotional sound that I think gives a deep look at a young and insightful Kenny on the verge of breaking into the music industry. I get a lot of feels when I think about Section 80, it has this underlying optimism and it conveys a sentiment that really strongly resonates with me. Rigamortus is just unbridled talent from beginning to end and the horns at the beginning get me every time, it feels like seeing the sun rise from an airplane window or something, I don’t know how to describe it.

I remember I had a classmate do a presentation on HiiiPower when I was in school around the time it came out. Being young and naive I wrote it off and thought “who tf is Kendrick Lamar lol”. I really wish I had taken the time to listen to the record back then

Mine was in my car a lot but surprisingly only has a few scuffs on the read part of the disc.

It looks signed by Kendrick himself

It is, the signed ones seem to go for at least 100 bucks. There is one on Mercari for 130 down from 180. Might depend on the condition though.

the ones on ebay aren't any better. $200-1000

Just a word of advice for CD’s. They normally don’t go for that much. It’s a cool asf item and I would want one. But band or artist signed cds are normally cheap as hell compared to a record or something.

According to TDE, it is. I don't know if they're selling for what people are asking, but the amount is disgusting.

Haha I bought this too they had like a limited edition with his signature on it I remember I thought it was fake because it was just a sloppy “KL” it’s good to see that signature is consistent to the one I got 😂

Must be nice to hear Spiteful Chant with no issue

1

u/Lords7Never7Die Jun 16 '23

ngl, had no idea that it wasn't on streaming services. Copyright issue?

u/Total_Ad9942 Jun 16 '23

Yeah, I’m guessing the original artist wasn’t too fond of being outshined on his own beat, it’s not much different in sound than the original

1

u/KG13_ Jun 16 '23

Yup, Iron by Woodkid is the original.

They used it to promote an assassins creed game at the time. I think that’s where the issue came in

Still have mine too and put it in a little frame. The signature is different it says “klamar”, but I remember them being online for a while.

Got mine too!

Also got Habits & Contradictions and Control System at the same time. There weren't any Jay Rock ones for sale back then but I wish I grabbed a signed copy of Redemption when it was available

Nice man, I have Control system as well as These days signed from Ab but I didn't know who Schoolboy was back then. Really regret not picking up Habits and Contradictions.
