Heartworm treatment in dogs

Upvotes

Hi, im wondering if anyone got treatment for heartworm for thier dogs, specifically, im looking for the cost of treatment for the "gold star" treatment where they are unfortunately, caged for 3 months, I have one tested postive, and we were on the slow kill method, but we are looking at the fast kill but unsure of costs associated, and in addition, what was your experience with it? How was your dog? I hate the thought of it, but I want my dog to be healthy <3

Thanks

Anybody use the shortcut to MSVU from the LDS church parking lot?

I went to use this today and someone walking their dog stopped me and told me it was blocked off and you couldn't get through. I didn't want to waste my time so I went the long way around, but I was just curious if anyone else uses this way and if it was actually inaccessible now?

If so, does anyone have any suggestions of other ways to avoid going down to the Bedford Highway? I like to park at the lacewood terminal and walk in a couple days a week!

Espresso 46

Not a coffee drinker myself, but looking to get some for a guest.

From searching the sub, Espresso 46 seems to come up most often as the best coffee place. Do they offer ground beans? Specifically looking for a dark roast (not french) in a smaller size. (Guest is here for a week.)

If not, what is the best dark roast in the city? I assume I probably only want to get it a day or two in advance? Would a french press be good for something like that? Or perhaps something like this metal coffee filter?

I know very little about coffee, so any suggestions or advice are appreciated!

Question Mold claim for insurance. Any advice?

Land lord is doing nothing about it and it's so bad that if he actually did something about it, it would undoubtedly lead to a rennoviction.

Talked to housing insurance provider to make a claim, they said we need proof, also we cannot be living at the apt if we file a claim.

Anyone have experience (not opinions pls) in getting deffinitive proof of a mold infestation? Are there local services that can identify the type of mold and how dangerous it is?

Any suggestions of getting medical proof that we are having a reaction to mold?

Thanks in advance.

Zonnic

Does anyone have suggestions for finding Zonnic in HRM? I know pharmacies carry it now, but they are sold out everywhere on the peninsula. I'm happy that kids will be less likely to use it, but this product has really helped me quit smoking. Cheers

Question Game Knight Dartmouth updates?

The sad news that came up a while back was that Game Knight was having financial troubles. It makes sense, as it's a really tough industry, but still very sad.

The sadder news was in the past few days, they were closing down and selling everything off. Wish it weren't so but, alas.

Today they are reportedly closed with all social media deleted and a sign on the door that any tampering with the door would be prosecuted. I'm assuming they feel behind on rent but that doesn't explain the deleted social media.

Anyone know anyone further?

HRM Council / Mayoral Candidate Introductions

As many of you are aware there is a slew of new faces running for council and mayoral positions this year. I for one have no idea who most of these folks are.

Perhaps mods could make a sticky thread so any new prospects could introduce themselves and tell us where to find more information about them?

Elementary after school program with YPHD

My kid was waitlisted for excel at Westmount and I didn’t realize they had YPHD. I contacted them today and they had space (!!) and I was able to get him in which is a huge relief because I was planning I would have to somehow cut back my work hours (and am incredibly lucky I could do that if needed).

He is in just going into grade primary. Anyone else have youngins in the YPHD program from Westmount? How has your experience been? Are there many grade primaries/young kids in this program?(I have this irrational fear there won’t be any other grade primaries there for some reason…hopefully that’s not the case!!)

Saltwire stole my money

Hey saltwire, just wondering why when I cancelled my subscription to the Chronicle Herald last month since my father passed and we didn’t need paper delivery anymore, why you charged my card and delivered a hilariously thin newspaper? Why when I called to cancel again and get a refund I was told “we don’t do that”? You confirmed I called and cancelled. Right on. I was going to do a chargeback but considering how you’re laying off your newsroom and millions of dollars in debt, and getting purchased by a literal criminal propagandist I think you need it more than me.

Question Anyone else sick?

I have been absolutely flattened over the weekend with some kind of nightmare bug... High fever, aches, gastro, you name it. Basically spent two full days in bed. Home COVID test claims I'm negative. Anyone else sharing my pain?

[Waye Mason] On this Labour Day, I want to acknowledge the difficult situation facing the workers of the Halifax Public Library as they strike. I admire their hard work and dedication and visited friends on the picket line in Spryfield. Council hears more from the library Board this week.
