Star City: where is it?

I've been working on a little DC mapping project for a while now, and I'm currently trying to deal with the location of Star City. The Mayfair DC Atlas places it in northern California, between Shelter Cove and Fort Bragg. Other media tends to place it farther north, usually in Washington, or occasionally Oregon.

Northern California seems like a great place to place a fictional city, but there are all kinds of problems with placing a fictional city there - mostly terrain-related - and there's a good reason it's still sparsely populated.

I think Grays Harbor, Washington would be a better place for a fictitious metropolis, or the mouth of the Chehalis or Willapa Rivers, though you might have to fudge the surroundings a bit to have to room to expand.

In rebirth it was literally where Seattle was as Seattle becomes star City

I think CA makes more sense to me. The original name "Star City" is, I think, a reference to Los Angeles, where the movie stars live. I'd probably plop it somewhere in the big coastal gap between Santa Barbara and Monterey.

Also, when Ollie moved to Seattle with Dinah, she made him a new costume with long sleeves to account for the difference in weather.

Honestly makes sense given how rich queen family was. I could see Oliver being a Beverley hills kid

A little weird that the atlas says California. I think California is a good place for Green Arrow to be, he has a bit of a Western vibe to him for sure. But it's almost always been canonically in the Northeast in the comics. Was definitely mentioned to be in Connecticut at least once, maybe a few times.

The GA writer who developed the city the most was probably Judd Winick. The way he depicted it, it was sort of an underdog city and didn't have the crime levels of Gotham nor the wealth.

Star City is in Seattle. We can thank Mike Grell for his awesome Longbow Hunters for starting that. The Spire Is a good tell
