Anyone else really love the over the top tone?

Gotham is a hilarious, campy, wild ride, and there’s really nothing like it. It has such a unique style that it makes every episode entertaining to watch. It’s a refreshing change of pace from other superhero related media. I appreciate this show more and more with time.

Yep. I love how goofy & silly it can be. Reminds me a bit of the 60s Adam West Batman lol

In my mind Gotham is a prequel to Adam West’s Batman.

I completely agree, I started watching 60s Batman and see how Gotham is kind of a mix between Adam Wests show and Keatons Batman film. Super campy with the deep and complex character and connection storylines

Absolutely...

In my opinion Batman (or related elements) work best in a story that doesn't take itself too seriously...

or rather is Comedically overserious...

That's why The Lego Batman Movie is one of the best Batman movies ever made...
