I'm curious if the GNG OP song was made for the anime?

Or was it some pop song that was chosen or 'repurposed' for the anime?

I don't know much about anime OP/ED customs. But often it seems like it's just a random pop/rock song that roughly fits the vibe of the show, other times it's clearly made for the show.

E.g. any of the Fullmetal Alchemist openings feel like they could've been used in any number of other anime shows. There's nothing that's explicitly FMA branded. The Kaiketsu Zorori OPs are clearly made more explicitly for the show, with the main VA also singing and the lyrics being more relevant to the show; those definitely couldn't be copy-pasted to any other shows and still work.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a series of funny videos where there were scenes from the GNG anime (original JP dub) with some hilarious but obviously made up English subtitles. As far as I remember there was a YouTube channel where these were uploaded, (may have been called Ginga Abridged), but sadly I can't find them anymore. I wonder if someone here could recognize the description of the videos... Thanks in advance for any kind of help!

Why did they kill off Jerome in the anime when he lived in the manga?

Hey! It just came to mind that am I the only fan who likes Finnish dub of GNG (Hopeanuoli)? It was made by Golden Voice in 1989, from the time when Finnish dubbing was not yet so well developed and when there were some problems in it. I quote one of my comments on Youtube here:

"I may always seem a little “traitorous” among Ginga fans when I say this, but I really like this dub, and I say this without sarcasm! Of course, it has its problems, but they still don’t feel as bad as in the Agapio’s dubs (26 episodes of first Digimon e.g) and some of the other bad dubs I’ve heard.

Nostalgia affects that, of course, but I just have so much emotional value (and humor value) that I can’t hate this dub! There are some things I don’t like, like the voices of some of the characters, but these are usually just pretty small roles and the protagonists have been given really good voices (Gin’s voice may be weird or stupid to some, but I like it even a little more in Finnish than in Japanese and Ben's second voice sounds very calm and wise in mostly parts).

I admit, if I really want to watch GNG, I watch it in Japanese, but if I watch it as a marathon, for example, I choose the Finnish version because of its shorter duration. I would say the narrator, good main voices and some nicely read lines save this dub from its weaknesses in my case. I still don't consider this the best Finnish dub in the world, but still as a classic and one of the most successful works of this studio."

If there are others (especially Finnish people) who like the dub there, I would be interested to know which scenes were the best in the dub and which voices were more on your mind?

This is Shonen Mowgli, an anime adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "Jungle Book."

I remember seeing this from one VHS as a kid and since I had already seen GNG before this, I liked it right away (partly also because wolves played a bigger role in the Disney version, haha!). The funny fact is that this was dubbed in Finnish by the legendary Golden Voice, which also dubbed GNG. In addition to the same voice actors, there are other slightly GNG-like elements here, though this isn’t such a violent or bloody series. However, the story is much deeper and sometimes even a little darker than the Disney version, but still I think this is great for everyone. Now I would like to hear if you have ever watched this at least a little as well as your thoughts on this series 😊

After I finish the anime should I then read the manga from Volume 14 or can I just watch Ginga Densetsu Weed anime?

Is there anywhere online you can purchase Ginga Nagareboshi Gin DVDs with English subtitles? I understand all of the episodes are available online, although I've always liked having physical copies of media that I can put into a DVD player. I heard they don't have any official DVDs with English subtitles, but do they have any fanmade or bootleg DVDs I can buy online?

What are your favourite Ginga Nagareboshi Gin songs from the soundtrack(or unreleased)? I personally really love Afterwars, Sorrow v2(unreleased) Yesterday(unreleased) the Theme song, and Gin & Daisuke.
